You've got some very good material as answers for this simple question. Anyway, I got 2 points the easiest way. Methuselah was 969 years when he died. The oldest age recorded for man.

Methuselah was 969 years old when he died. It's pretty amazing to me that he lived that long. Equally amazing is the "fact" that Noah had three kids after he turned 500. Must've been his prime. Now you might not believe these ages literally, but I'm telling you, it's true. They had better diet and exercising habits than we do now and it made them live longer. Eat healthy and exercise more often and you, too, can have kids after living for a half of a millennium. That would be like Christopher Columbus still being alive and me being his son.

Genesis 5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

Now you know where that expression of 'old as Methuselah" comes from. He was 969 years old. He was Noah;s Grandfather that God was very fond of. And He died just before the flood took over the world.
