Assuming you are referring to the country...

As a computer science student I share classes with a lot of Indians who will eventually return to their home country and work in tech support or what not. What I've found is that if something doesn't have curry in it it is apparently bland, and they like sharing food. Both of which I have little to no problem with.

Some of the Indians I've had contact with are condescending, I have no idea why, and whenever I walk down a hallway with a group of Indians conversing in their native tongue they all stop until I round a corner or something and it is sometimes disconcerting.

Overall Indians are pretty cool people and their culture doesn't seem bad at all.

Which Indian culture are you talking about? The native Americans or the Indians from India?

It's nice but what I really don't like is the idea that your parents are the ones choosing your marriage partner, somewhat called the "arranged marriage". And why is it that ladies are the ones who will give the dowry and not the other way around? Ladies are pathetic in your place as much as whenever you want to go out or want to do anything, you need your husband's permission. I know coz I have an Indian colleague and she told me how difficult it is to become an Indian lady.

I like close family ties in your place and that there is small number of divorce.

I lived in India from 1971 through 1974. I'm very happy for the economic gains She's made in the past couple of decades. Also that, for many, life in India has become more stable & comfortable. As She develops her middle class; it'll be interesting to see how much of the caste system remains in tact.

I witnessed some ugly episodes relating to the caste system, and concerning the birth of female children. For my money, the people of India are capable of better on both fronts. I expect they'll continue to grow... and do better.

India's history is very interesting (as are most peoples', I suppose). But, overall, I do find myself drawn to so much of the good that can be found in her culture.

I admire Mahatma Gandhi... and see his example as one of the best, in the history of the world... worth emulating. I enjoy the Kukri Indira Gandhi presented my Father. I fear India's continued tension with Pakistan, and will enjoy the day when peace is the rule in (that or any part of) the world. For my money, I'd abandon both Casmir & Jerusalem... and any other geographical location with such a tendency toward disharmony & conflict.

Indian culture is rich and diverse and as a result unique in its very own way. Our manners, way of communicating with one another, etc are one of the important components of our culture. Even though we have accepted modern means of living, improved our lifestyle, our values and beliefs still remain unchanged. A person can change his way of clothing, way of eating and living but the rich values in a person always remains unchanged because they are deeply rooted within our hearts, mind, body and soul which we receive from our culture.

Indian culture treats guests and serves them and takes care of them as if they are a part and parcel of the family itself. Even though we don’t have anything to eat, the guests are never left hungry and are always looked after by the members of the family. Elders and the respect for elders is a major component in Indian culture. Elders are the driving force for any family and hence the love and respect for elders comes from within and is not artificial. Elders drill and pass on the Indian culture within us as we grow.

“Respect one another” is another lesson that is taught from the books of Indian culture. All people are alike and respecting one another is ones duty. In foreign countries the relation between the boss and the employee is like a master and slave and is purely monetary whereas in Indian culture the relation between the boss and the employee is more like homely relations unlike foreign countries.

Helpful nature is another striking feature in our Indian culture. Right from our early days of childhood we are taught to help one another in need of help and distress. If not monetary then at least in kind or non-monetary ways.

Indian culture tells us to multiply and distribute joy and happiness and share sadness and pain. It tells us that by all this we can develop co-operation and better living amongst ourselves and subsequently make this world a better place to live in.

Even though India is a country of various religions and caste our culture tells us just one thing 'phir bhi dil hai hidustani '.

I can not speak for all people as your question suggests. I have no problems with any people I know. I have traveled quite excessively and have met many people, from different culture(s), than myself. I get the usual response from other people respect.
I have met some real angels, (well they were so kind & generous), and I have met some real evil people. So, I don't stereotype people. I attribute this to my travels.

There are always positive and negative aspects to any culture. But I would like to respond to Jumeriah' answer..
There are a considerable no. of "love marriages" in India."arranged marriage doesn't mean that there is no say of the couple in question. They get to meet each other...only drawback is that dating is not involved .Unfortunately the divorce rate is increasing. It's a wonder that the success rate for arranged marriages are more than love marriages..
Dowry remains a huge problem esp. in middleclass setup. But law favours women and is against all atrocities against them.

our Indian culture is very much diverse. But when we talk about moral bankruptcy , our culture is equally corrupted inside. out side appears to be good.
