That at the end:

1- Life is too short
2-We are just a little particle of sand in the whole Universe?
3- Why should we be fighting, especially in this category, as tomorrow perhaps we will not be in this earth?
4- Again life is too short, we should smile more often?

Question inspired by TERA thanks.

Teressa says she has told her children "that I loved their daddy very much, that it was an accident, and that I'm very, extremely sorry." She says they slept through everything that drunken midnight when she whirled around during an argument with a kitchen knife in her hand.

The six-inch blade sliced through Erin's lung, pericardium and pulmonary artery. Teressa at first told police she didn't know what had happened, that Erin was drunk and she came upstairs and found him clutching his chest.

The court heard how Teressa had made good use of her 11 months in Prince William County jail.

Erin had $400,000 in life insurance, and the legal finding of involuntary manslaughter means Teressa is eligible to collect; the first installment is due any day.

Should she get sympathy? Should she get more jail time? Reckon her story "he walked into the knife" is true?

Is there any place for gender roles in the world or are they outdated and useless? Is society heading down the toilet because of femminism, or is that just sour right-wing nonsense?
What about family values and appropriate role models? How do you view the future?

I see a lot of posts about lost morals, slutty women, dress codes etc. I mostly see men trashing women for the way they choose to dress or how many men/women they choose to sleep with. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of other women using the same standards in evaluating their own kind and gaining a sense of superiority through having better "respect" for themselves or "morals."

Can someone explain to me why and how a woman's personal choices affect them? Whether one chooses to wear red lipstick, short skirt, sleeping around with whatever man she chooses or she chooses to not wear makeup and sleep with other women?

My personal opinion is that people's sense of inferiority will always look for things in others to judge, but women have shown more vulnerability regarding their sexuality & appearance, so those are the first things attacked.

Thanks!

The nation barely blinked as 11-year-old Nestor Nieves was stabbed to death outside a Springfield, MA movie theatre by another boy his age. Subsequent news reports indicated that Nieves was going to the movie with a girl that the other boy wanted to date. “That other boy was jealous and got mad,” said his stepfather...

In recent years, this kind of event has been described as “youth violence” rather than what it really is: male violence. Also, with the exception of Columbine, all the shootings of recent years have involved some kind of dating violence - usually a girl wouldn’t go out with one of the boys. With the exception of Jackson Katz and Sut Jhally’s Boston Globe column, media analysis of these tragedies usually missed this important point.

I also went to middle school in Springfield, and I learned many things there and elsewhere about what it means to be a man.

I always thought of the two genders as puzzle piece, they both compliment each other but are different in shape and personality (usually). Is this depiction accurate? Or are they equal?

In honor of women's suffrage on August 26, Ellen Goodman announced the Equal Rites Awards to those who have labored over the last 12 months to set back the cause of women. The nominees are listed in her article:
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2007/08/24/a_year_of_notable_setbacks_for_women/

Here's the first nominee:
We begin by looking to Japan where Shinzo Abe's government wins the Knights in (Tarnished) Armor Prize. There, the prime minister refused to apologize for the Japanese Army's use of "comfort women" as sexual slaves in World War II. That was after his health minister called women "baby-making machines." And finally, the bodyguard for his gender equality minister was arrested for molesting a college student on a train. We send the land of the rising sun a sunset clause.

There's quite a few more listed, who do you think set back the cause of women the most during the past 12 months?

Patriarchy describes a society where men are in charge, so then does Matriarchy describe a society where women are in charge?

If in a matriarchal society men and women have equal status then would we be better off calling them 'partnership society'?

There seems to be a subtle presupposition that men are the badies and women are the goodies; that when men are in charge inequality, war and exploitation prevail but when women are in charge, equality, freedom and cooperation prevail.

I've met some manipulative, controlling women in my time and I've met some very fair, patient and sensitive men. Do you think feminists are just projecting things they don't like in themselves onto men

Could you all imagine the world where women are more dominant then men in almost every aspect of life? What kind of world would we have then? Is it better or worse then our own world here and now?

Parallel to the Feminism in our world, I imagine men would rally and have the Masculism in that world.... what do you think would be Masculism agenda in that world? Do you agree that there would be some radical Masculists, or should I say Male Sex Supremacists? I do believe that (again, parallel to radical Feminists/ Female Sex Supremcists in our world).

Certain women have better judgement than certain men. True, but I somehow feel women are excessively prone to exaggerate this very limited advantage of theirs.

While 51% of all females probably are smarter than 49% of all males, the 49% of the global female population who are not believe their husbands to be losers and fools while the opposite assumption probably is a more legitimate one.

However, one might argue that intelligence ought not to matter as much in the field of human affairs as intelligent humans tend to believe.

IMO, 99% of all women strive to control men out of motives linked to personal satisfaction, not because of insight.

I've found out that many women fancy strong, intelligent, aggressive males (although not berserk rapists though). This is all natural and they ought to be respected for this attitude because this probably is about biology, not ideology.

Perhaps wishing to control men is also an expression of female biology?

Here's what happens in Kenya when men aren't around:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6959209.stm

Mr Muite caused laughter when he told parliament that the monkeys had taken to harassing and mocking women in a village.

because women are primarily responsible for the farms, they have borne the brunt of the problem, as they try to guard their crops.

They say the monkeys are more afraid of young men than women and children, and the bolder ones throw stones and chase the women from their farms.

"When we come to chase the monkeys away, we are dressed in trousers and hats, so that we look like men," resident Lucy Njeri told the BBC News website

"But the monkeys can tell the difference and they don't run away from us and point at our breasts. They just ignore us and continue to steal the crops."

When the men aren't there, the monkeys basically dominate the women.

Why do feminists say women don't need men and are independent when this is what happens when men aren't there?

Okay so we know men & women will always disagree about reproductive rights.

During arguments, most often women will say stuff like ''try to see it from a woman's perspective'', and I have. I've actually changed my views a bit regarding reproductive rights. I still believe we need to give men a few more options regarding reproduction, but anyway, this isn't what the question is about.

So, I've tried seeing it from a woman's perspective, and it has changed my views a bit. So I ask you, can you try seeing it from a man's perspective? What do you see?
