Why do women wish to control men?

Question

Certain women have better judgement than certain men. True, but I somehow feel women are excessively prone to exaggerate this very limited advantage of theirs.

While 51% of all females probably are smarter than 49% of all males, the 49% of the global female population who are not believe their husbands to be losers and fools while the opposite assumption probably is a more legitimate one.

However, one might argue that intelligence ought not to matter as much in the field of human affairs as intelligent humans tend to believe.

IMO, 99% of all women strive to control men out of motives linked to personal satisfaction, not because of insight.

I've found out that many women fancy strong, intelligent, aggressive males (although not berserk rapists though). This is all natural and they ought to be respected for this attitude because this probably is about biology, not ideology.

Perhaps wishing to control men is also an expression of female biology?

What is this equality BS? Sometimes two people don't have the time to discuss and come to a mutual agreement. Therefore, sometimes, the stronger person has to step up and do something on their own... even if that means a man throwing his pain-in-the-*** pregnant wife in the lifeboat because there is no other choice. Boo-hoo. For 5 minutes, ladies, you lose your options in favor of the life growing your belly. That does not make your man a patriarchal misogynist.

Men are nature's destroyers and women are nature's creators. You have to have both for civilization to prosper. Nature does not allow weak or sickly to infect the entire population. But, mankind is no longer subservient to the laws of nature. We have to govern our own population. And frankly, we're not doing that at all now, since feminism became such a big political power. Since sensitivity overtook logic. I mean, you can't criticize a woman for something - like you would a man, and get away with it. There's no logic there.

I think it's an expression of human biology -- men and women want to control other people. Co-workers, kids, or lovers, it doesn't matter.

I think the desire to control, and the thought that one's spouse is a loser is not bounded by gender, unfortunately. But we can CHOOSE to think in different ways, and let people express themselves.

By the way, I would like my husband to act in a way that benefits us as a couple. And I know he feels the same way. (-: It's just that sometimes we don't exactly agree on what that would be. I feel very blessed to have a fairly non-controlling spouse, and I try not to nag him and make him do things just to make me happy.

I don't think that women wish to control men. Women just want control over their own lives, and if this means standing up to a man to do it, many will. Sometimes, however, the fear of having control taken away by a man (or having had experiences where just such a thing has happened), can lead a woman to over-exert herself in the control-arena...she may become the one who's controlling. It might be an unconscious self-defense mechanism.

In my experience, most women do not try to control men. Some women do, some men try to control women. That is just life. Men have 'dominated' the world for thousands of years. Women only became citizens with equal legal rights in the late mid 1900's in Canada. Go Emily Murphy! Anyway, it's about freedom. it is about expression of our ideals, and feelings. The world is a better place when women get involved.
Women can be emotional. If a woman can take care of her children,and handle anything that comes to her, while balancing everythng else in the lives of her husband and children, why would it be that a woman is not capable of self control. Your statistics are NOT correct. They are opinion.

Women are strong and sensible. That is that. And women dont want men who are aggressive unless they have serious emotional problems. They may like assertivness in the bedroom, but that is different. I know that some men like the woman to be assertive too. This area of men and women's personalities have NOTHING to do with their ability to do anything else. It is not all about biology. We are shaped my our biolgy, but we develope ourselves differently. Twins can be as different as night and day. I know many twins.

Any normal, mentally sound woman wants a man who is strong minded and smart, just like them. I know that I dont want a man who is not afraid to speak his mind. My husband is never violent, and is still a strong, smart, assertive man.

Women can be controlling people, just like men. Too many men in western society believe that if they don't let their women walk all over them, she'll leave and find a guy that will. So, I don't think it's as much a nature thing as it is that guys allow it so much now.

Maybe it is a circumstantial thing, such as when the men go out all the time or do things that can potentially harm their relationships etc. women want men to act a certain way and behave themselves...LOL so maybe that is why.

Uh, I didn't read all that you typed, BUT I find it to be the other way around, it's the MEN that try to control the women. And that's were the verbal abuse turns into physical. My mom always says, "if you can control yourself, you're doing well." I tend to agree.

I don't wish to control men. I think men should be in control because women follow their emotions too much. Though I probably believe that because I grew up reading all these Victorian books, so my opinion may not be the norm.
