I define myself by heart and mind.

I am sure I would be the same person if I were a man. Perhaps just with a deeper voice and trying to fulfil stereotypes given by whichever society I lived in (as a man). But in essence, I would be the same person.

I strongly believe this: men and women are closer than what they are taught us to believe. Humans experience the same feelings of: fear, love, insecurity, hunger, insecurity, sexual attraction...and... so many other human emotions.

When we look at each other through the same glasses, we know better.

Flying Horse's answer is beautiful.

Except - I think she must have meant 'soul' - after all, the heart is a muscle in the chest. It has no identity apart from its function as an organ; same thing with genitalia.

But if she had used the word 'soul', the prose wouldn't have flowed as nicely...

I like your question and I too thought Flyinghorse's answer was beautiful.
I however could never define myself without inclusion of my experience as a woman and my womaness. I would not be the same person if I were a man and that goes beyond my pregnancy and child birth experience.
I love with all my soul being a woman first.

Both, a good heart is great in a long run but you need the look to get that first date.

I define myself by the essence of my soul...my spirit, my entire being. ...my life is like a kaliedoscope..it contains many different pieces, it's bright, it's colorful, it's ever changing. I am not just "one thing"...I am multi-faceted...I am much more than what you see on the surface. I cannot be defined by any narrow definition. I'm not a religious zealot, but I firmly believe that our bodies are but a mere vessel for our souls...

I follow my heart, but I define myself by my impressive genitalia.

Then again, if I'm in the mood, I follow my genitalia. I'm always right behind it.
