Why do some men act so tough?

and degrade women .. ACT like they are stong .. are they weaker than they want us so know I think men like that a powerless fools do u

According to a quote from Jerry Rubin (Social Activist):

"“Most men act so tough and strong on the outside because on the inside, we are scared, weak, and fragile. Men, not women, are the weaker sex.”

I don't believe the second part of this quote, as I think we have different strengths and weaknesses, but nevertheless this quote was said by a man.

In my experience, the "tough" guys I have met in my life tend to be shallow and insecure. Therefore they tend to be very young and influenced by images of what is to be masculine, trying to fit a stereotype. Most than anything they want to be accepted by their own male friends. One of the ways of showing their "manhood" is by denigrating others, be it women or men from another "clan".

most men act this way because many women want them to do so, then when they continue to do so, the women become angry and frustrated because the men won't change and become softer/gentler/more respectful.
nice guys really may not finish last, but they sure do have a tough time getting started w/most women.
show a woman a picture of a guy who looks the studly masculine stereotype, and a picture of a guy wearing a dress shirt, sitting on a park bench w/a stack of books & CDs. who do you think she will pick as the one she wants to go out with?? almost every time it is the stereotype.
men are weak. they will do almost anything to find a woman but all to often have no idea what to do in order to keep a woman, and sadly, women are becoming more trapped in the same situation...they know how to get a man but not how to keep one...and neither men nor women seem to know what kind of person they want to really be with for a real relationship and so they keep choosing the wrong kind and becoming more angry and bitter and jaded and yet refuse to or are unable to change their pattern of behaviors.

Many men act tough because they wish they were more like me(or more like someone like me).

Acting is for actors. I'd need to get paid a ton of cash to act anything.

I've seen both men and women acting way tougher than they really are. I'm sure each has their own reason. How about you just go find some genuine guys to hang out with like me? Just remember you can't be acting, either, or they'll just boot ya out.

i will answer this from previous journey: so as that they don't look like wimps! For some men, being an outcast merely isn't an option, so if some guy starts off to act complicated around friends, it ability he's merely attempting to slot in and stay cool. in case you have a chum thats like this, the two refer to him approximately this or come across a sparkling pal.

Men act tough because they need to to attract females since females like men who can protect them and their off-spring. If they act weak, then women will think they can't protect them and other men will take advantage of the man. Do women act weak? I don't think so, and neither do men.

If men didn't act tough, women would walk all over them. Even some of the tough ones get played for fools by women.

Life would be all too easy (for women) if Men would just admit their weaknesses.
