I always thought of the two genders as puzzle piece, they both compliment each other but are different in shape and personality (usually). Is this depiction accurate? Or are they equal?

Women are completely different then men. In Arab countries, women are treated very poorly and are forced to become servants to the men. Woman in Arab countries are also forced to cover their entire body while in public. This prevents women from using their common strategy of using sex and false love as a tool to dig out as much money out of men as they can.

I don't believe so, I think by trying to make them the same is doing them both a disservice. Don't get me wrong, I am all for equal as human beings are concerned, but when you try to make a woman compete on the same levels as men in sports or any physical level is unfair. I celebrate the differences of the sexes and I hope we don't muddy the lines as science becomes more advanced.

No two human being are equal, male or female just like no one have the same finger print. Some are smarter, some are stronger. The law are trying to bring equality to the work place but to no avail. The stronger one will get the blue collar job and the smarter one will get the white collar job, the law can not make people hire weak and stupid people...

I like your puzzle metaphor.
It's entirely possible that the 2 puzzle pieces are of equal mass and surface area, but shaped differently.

The real value, as I see it, is the synergistic effect of linking the puzzle pieces together, where 1+1 = 3.

In general, men are much stronger than women especially in physical. That means women are weak compared to men. That is why most top leaders are men. So they are different. We say that male and female are equal just in human rights by which both sexes have the same chance to participate in competition, no discrimination in sex, age and so on. Men and women have different duties in family or society due to their natural characters. Of course we cannot deny few women can do the jobs that most men do. But it is particular exception. Just let people, who can do, do what they want to do no matter what sex . So you have to admit that as human beings, male and female have similarities. But they are really different in nature and in many ways.

Both are intrinsically equal. But have different roles. None is BETTER, just different. I am a christian, and that is one of the most frequently misinterpreted things about christianity is that it's unfair to women. That's garbage.

Take the story of the woman at the well. The woman was SURPRISED that Jesus was talking to her. This is because that didn't happen in their culture. Jesus wanted to change that.

Male and female are different, yes. And they compliment each other. But they are still equal in the sense that neither is better nor worse than the other.

They both fulfill the measure of creation. Without man, there is no woman, and without woman there is no man. Women put the "wo" (whoah!) in manhood.

They are like yin and yang, two distinct and different entities which create balance. They are equal when adding the sums of them both. The capacities of women are greater than that of men in some areas and likewise that of men in others, but when calculated as an entire entity, they are equal.

Great question my brother.

Physically, no, emotionally, no. Your description of puzzle pieces is very apt.

The struggle for "equality" is focused on areas that are not supposed to be bodily or personal, like the workplace, the law, etc.

Reproductive politics get messier because that's where the private and personal intersect. Workplace policies get messy in industries that require strength, etc.

But I don't think you will get many people saying they are exactly the same.

Object Of It's Ire. 3 + 1 = 4 would have been the correct example.

Slept through math class, did we? That is right, they do not stress math in the social sciences, do they?

Yes, they are different. Women and Men are the same species, but look and are very different.

Men are stronger and bigger but take more time for their maturity to grow, and they don't cry as much as women do.

Women are more curved and smaller, they aren't as strong but they tend to be more emotional than men, and they mature faster.

Men usually have short hair, while women have longer.

And the styles are VERY different.

But you should still treat men and women as equals, because we have have hearts, brains, and souls. Nothing can change that.
