When women were supposed to submit to men, women were miserable, and men were a bit irrational (no offense men!) alot of the time treating women as property and taking advantage of them. Now, women are not as upset about their gender roles, and SOME men are more upset than they were, and I think that if equal opportunities were made for both sexes, and men and women could CHOOSE what role they wanted to play in the family, and just role with it, it would be SOOO much easier! Think about it. No pressure, just the equal opportunity to be yourself, not the feminist ideal girl, or the submissive ideal wife. I am sure that many would choose both, and there would be no problem. I think that many women feel like they have to be in charge of their lives when they don't want to, and that many women feel like they must "submit" when they don't want to. Does anyone agree?

I am currently writing a paper for my psychology class on the topic of nature vs. nurture. I am attempting to defend the thesis that it is nurture that determines most of a person's personality. I am having trouble finding sources and experiments to support the nurture theory. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

It seems that with everything I love, and enjoy I always get a feeling of needing to prove over, and over again on why I love what I love, etc. Even when it comes to women that I see as being pretty, I can't help but feel like I need to prove that I really feel, and see just that. No matter how much I tell myself, and try everything I can think of to prove myself all of this, I keep getting this feeling. What makes things even worse, is the fact that everything/one I love is what gives me complete confidence with everything I do, but with this feeling, always wondering why, questioning, needing to prove over, and over again, I simply feel like crap 24/7.

Guys, what would stop you from approaching a woman you find attractive? Are there certain types of women you simply like to look at but just won't walk up to? What if those women approached you?

Changes in circumstances like if i am put into a new situation with new people , i completely go offmark. Mostly these are small changes like arrival of some guest, change in place, to go through a new book , even small, routine twists and turns in relationships etc. Although i manage to look composed on the exterior , my inside is quite disarrayed, I can not concentrate on my work( i am a student) and my studies suffer. I am not afraid of anything in particular. I can not avoid new situations so please advise me how to cope. Thanks.

I've had friends on the same page but in the end they all seemed to find something they love to do. I just cant find that kind of motivation in anything I do. Most of all How do you find such motivation? No matter what I seem to have none of it, whether I do good or bad at something. Most of the time I have to force myself to do things when I shouldnt have to. Alot of things become pretty tiring to do to me.
I've been told my paintings are pretty good but it just never seems to hold my interest and same for some other things. Any of you experience this? :P

My mom and I just had a really bad falling out. I told her that I don't like it when she lavishes too much attention on me and that I can't deal with the emotional baggage she dumps on me. She started crying and screaming and talking about how she wanted to die because she had a bad day at work and now everyone at home was being mean to her. I told her I love her and care about her but sometimes she does things that are just outrageous and I can't deal with it, so I end up avoiding her. I told her that I didn't know how to show that I loved her because everytime I do she just dumps more burdens on me. She is too needy and never gets out of the house, and I suggested she go try a new hobby and meet some people. She wouldn't stop crying and acting like I was being disrespectful and mean. She kept saying "You don't love me, I can't feel it" and "How do I know when to talk to you and when not to?"

I went to go visit him for the first time today since August.
In August after the visitation, I wrote him a letter criticizing him harshly for the wrong and hurt he caused my family and I in the past.
He didn't respond to that one so I wrote him an apology.
Then he responded, but I didn't respond after that.
I went in to see him today in jail and they told me that
he took me off the list.
My mother and I finally chose to respond to him 2 weeks ago since I last did on August,
and he hasn't written back.
His release date is next month.
Why do you suppose he did this ?

I have dreams off and on about my exboyfriend assaulting, molesting, and trying to rape me, and sometimes succeeding. I also have violent (thought not sexual) dreams where my father (divorced parents, i was 11) is fighting with me and holding me back and not letting me leave.

Why do I keep having these dreams? It is very hard for me to deal with. Does anyone out there have similar dreams or know why I have these dreams and how to deal with them?

Thank you very much.

Well a common thing women say in what they find attractive in a man is one who is confident, kind and has a good sense of humor/funny and intelligence as well. So with that said, I was curious what combinations women like more or if it would be even or one favored overall than the other. So, what would you choose or prefer? A man who is brilliant, very knowledgeable, and witty and impressive with his intelligence, but has a moderate sense of humor. Or a man with a great sense of humor and is funny, but not overboard of course, as a man, especially comedians can be overboard. But the man has a great sense of humor and funny in the charming way that is very attractive, of course. But is of average intelligence. Not dumb, or unknowledgeable, but definitely not brilliant either and moderate intellectually speaking. Please don't be greedy and say both, lol, or don't say none either. For the sake of this question, if you had to choose one or the other, which would you choose and why?
