Or if they are just being nice because you are related to the boss?

The will respect you if you don't get too caught up in the social scene and remain mostly independant.

Naturally your co-workers would be envious of you, as a status thing but they might think that you even have to work harder than they, and then they might not know at all. They probably have a pretty open mind and a good opinion of you now. Try not to be so eager to please and balance your desire to maintain good relations with co-workers and doing a good job. You will find they like you when they begin to assert themselves to you and open up. I would be intimidated probably only if say the bosses daughter asserted themselve to me and started talking about their position and how Daddy dearest or Mom or w/e has all the authority. It is best to keep family and personal life out of the place of business!

They are probably being nice because they see your best quailities shining through! = ]

Gosh if I met a fellow co-worker who was related to my boss I'd sure as hell be nice to that person. If you're worried they are just doing that and you really want them to think you're a good person, try talking to them, small talk is nice. Make yourself sound interesting or just a good person, regardless of the fact your related to your boss.

Lolly lol. One, people are people no matter which individual's view is being judged. 2nd lolly lol, related 2 da boss...my, my you have the grapes to ask such a question.

Let me relay what I just read.

Hey, God?
Yes, Christ.
Do people worship me just because I'm your son, or do they really love me so much?

My answer: it's irrelevant. But here it is: that's the cost of being a somebody, you'll never know if they love you for being yourself or for being yourself.

Who cares if people at work actually like you. They are not important compared to one's parents and close friends.

Notice how fast they leave when their time is up for the day. If they rarely stay later for any reason, I bet they hate their job but want to hold on to it for some reason.

Who cares? You are there to work, not to make everybody like you. Just do what you need to do, and don't be worried about what other people think!

if they like, invite you to have dinner at their house after work or something like that or if they invite you anywhere with them for that matter. and if they talk to you for reasons other than paper work. if they ask how you are, how your kids are, etc

if they don't like you, they will give you the old stinkeye.

Just work at doing your job and keeping a low profile.
