I am doing a MSc and am coming to the end. Problem is that I have essays coming out of my ears and a LOT of other work going on that I need to do - job applications etc - and also just a general feeling of not wanting to do any of it. I know I need to do it, I know I should do it, I know what the consequences are of me not doing it but I really cannot get motivated.

Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to get motivated in this situation? All comments appreciated! Cheers.

I know the job i have is not a bad job. I am in my mid twenties, and I earn more than anybody my age. When I left school , to the surprise of my parents ,I took a trade than pursing college. On finishing my trade, I "recalibrated" myself, and took a job in the IT industry ,and worked. I know earn a great wage, and things on that sense are doing well. However, lately I find I am bored. I do not like going to work, and I feel I have made mistakes. I need my current income now ,and I cannot afford to drop. I do not know now what to do. I don't know if I can continue my current place. I am happy, but bored and fed up. I do not know what to do. Does anyone know whats wrong with me , and what should I do now ?

There are some things that you can't change, so why do we still worry? How do you block things out of your mind?

It has been often called the "cowards way out", but it takes an awful lot of courage to actually do it. So is suicide really painless? And is there really any point in carrying on if you are resolute on doing it?

please can you give constructive comments on my poem, also could you please let me know if you can get the feeling i am trying to put across and if not why, many thanx for spending your time reading this poem

A poem I wrote, an opinion I ask
Tell me what you think? Do not mask
All the comments, if they be good or bad
Whether they make me happy or sad

I read the comments, looking for a clue
And saw a question, what age are you
Your words do touch me, they make me melt
They made me feel how you would have feel
At last I smile someone that understands

All the work a heart felt poem demands
An email I send to answer your question
And this is when you happen to mention
That you have the need to write things down
The things make you happy or frown

We change our poems over the following week
For encouragement and comments we both do seek
It’s great that I have found a friend, a fellow poet
We are farmers of words, we sow what we reap
And share with each other memories to keep

Dance

I love the way that you do wind
Envious eyes you do bind
Upon the dance floor you raise your hands
To the beat and all its demands
You swing your hips you can’t resist
To the beat you cannot miss

The music slows you sway with the sound
Smiling at me the dance partner you’ve found
Beat picks the tempo up once more
Encouraging us to stay on the dance floor

The lights blur as the sounds resonates
Within our souls and it insinuates
To move our bodies and dance away
All the troubles we we’ve had that day

The lonely poets

Writing poetry we do care
We have the skill and the flare
And even though we try so hard
It comes out like a greeting card

We sit looking at the monitor screen
We know it all, so it would seem
Our fingers type as we pour out ideas
So you can feel our lonely tears

Our feelings of joy sadness and sorrow
We write it down for you to read tomorrow
And if you feel a hint of what we express
Maybe you’ll understand our loneliness

Our poems may rhyme, or they may not
But the words we put shouldn’t be forgot
There from the heart and truth be told
Our thoughts and loves will never grow old

So after reading one of our works
Try and understand our funny quirks
For we try and do the hardest task
Nor do we hide behind false masks

What you read is what you get
And hopefully you will never forget
A poet’s world is very glum
And this will never be undone

Is it not a waste if resources are used to create false needs and values? What are false needs and values? An example will be a business creating a new need (thus new market) that just a very short while ago was never a need at all. Or policies that directly/indirectly force the customers to spend more (beyond what they really need) to be entitled for cheap gifts, for example. And when resources are spent both on creating this false need and producing the product/service to fulfill it, are resources not significantly wasted after a prolonged period of time? Instead of creating real value as commonly argued by the economists, resources are actually significantly wasted to create false needs and values to sustain corporations. What's your comment?
