My 20 yr old boyfriend has suffered from social anxiety since middle school. He overcame much of his disorder when sent to a therapeutic boarding school for high school, but he still is uncomfortable in talking to those he isn't very close to, and doesn't like crowded social scenes. Is there any thing I can do to help him? Waht are the do's and don'ts of dealing with a close friend with S.A.D. ? Thank you!

Surviving a life that most people don't except, trying to find myself, being in deep depression, hating myself because my entire life people have hated me, and trying to find someone to love me for who I am. I am SO confused. I can't put up with it and I'm not sure that I will be able to survive it!

...and in it my class from school and I were sitting and talking (nicely, actually) and praying a little on comfy couches and then before we knew it a natzi came in and he told us to deny God, and, being a christian, I stood up and said no, and he shot me along with other people. But when he shot me the bullet didn't do anything at all! and this really shy and quiet girl who was sitting next to me stood up too. Do you think this means anything significant?

Not being able to communicate with people in public has been the biggest handicap of my life. I'm a 22yr old male with a loving girlfriend and friends that accept me for who I am, yet, in school I can't join in conversations, even though I relate to everyone (it's a game development school). I have done research and discovered I'm not just 'shy', rather, I have social anxiety. How can I overcome this? I have such low self esteem and little confidence in myself. I wish I could *poof* be 'normal', but can't. Does anyone have any tips for me? Maybe some medication reccomendations lol? Thank you for your time!

My oldest son turned 13 at the beginning of this month. If he isnt hiding in his room he is fighting with his 11 yr old brother and 6 yr old sister. He has went from being and honor roll student to almost failing, and has ZERO respect. For example I spent 2 days working VERY hard to get my Living room, Dining room and Kitchen rearranged and immaculate. My son decided to wipe spagetti sauce on the front of the cabinet in the kitchen, he knows finances are hard but still "sneaks" all the snacks I have set aside for my daughter for school making me run out before the end of the month and does it even tho I have explained the situation...he has even hunted them down when I hide them. He thinks the world revovles around him and that he knows everything. WHAT DO I DO. Does anyone have any ideas on how to manage this. He has ADHD, is medicated. I am going through a divorce but he is glad to be away from his step father, his father that he didnt even know commited suicide.

I have a friend that is going to an inpatient facility to get taken off of anti depressants - not sure which ones.. but I was wondering, besides the normal feelings of withdrawels (diziness, etc).. are there any horrible side effects that I should be worried about? "Complications", I guess..

Thank you for your time.

Maybe this should be in Singles&Dating but I think it has implications regarding the value women place on health & fitness.
Suppose you were dating a man and after a couple of months things are going well. Then he confides in you that he has Multiple sclerosis and is slowly losing all sense of touch (tactile sensation)?

Would you feel inclined to move on or would you stay with him? The relationship is good but you're not crazy in love or anything.

Ok, I came to a realization today. I have had a problem growing up. I am 33 and I have resisted it my whole life. I guess I just always want to have fun and the not so fun stuff I resist or run away from.

I am taking a step towards marriage. It scares me to death. I am scared about being a husband, having children, and having people depend on me. All of these things will cause me to put myself second. It's scary. But I want to do it.

I am going back to school and trying to get a better job.

They say you have to face your fears. I am trying.

Questions:
1. What is wrong with me?
2. Am I on the right track?
3. Any suggestions on how I can stop being so selfish and step up to the plate in my life for once?
4. Being depended on and making decisions makes me irritable. How can I change this?

take a look at some of these responses i got....

'Older women and younger guys are more sexually compatible, than an older woman and an older man. Guys reach their sexual peak in their late teens and early 20's and women reach their sexual peak in their 30's.'

'I think that the highschool and college age guys are cuter and you know more sexy looking..'

'umm...probably a guy around like 16 yrs old
srry
i am being honest'

'most girls i know date guys that arelike in thier early 20's. i like 18, 17, and 16 year olds.'

luckily, the last two are actually high school girls. but i only knew that after looking at their other questions. the questions said they were for older women though, so nobody else should've known that. what i'd like to know is if an older guy says he is into teen girls, he gets chewed out. there is even a question where this is the case, and that guy is 25. how come it is ok for older women?

MY REPLY:

Depends. Job questioned God and himself initially. So did Moses.

But they went on and did so, and God showed them why he requested they do as he said.

We are still humans with limit comprehension levels (compared to God), so it's common to question his requests. The point of the matter is will we choose to do so or not.

CASE and POINT: God is asking you to turn your life over to him. Will you do so?

I have been seeing a man who is very mean (in my opinion). I grow tired of how when I am upset about something, he always turns it around, effectively not accepting any responsibility for his rude behavior. The other night I was stunned when he said to me, "Why can't you just enjoy your life like everyone else?"

To say the least, this took me back. Is everyone else enjoying their lives? Then why are people so mean and why do they look so tired? I have never worked in a job I enjoyed and never had enough money to get by. Are there people, besides Oprah, who actually enjoy their life? Are there people who enjoy their jobs?

If so, I would love to hear from you.
