If you asked a compulsive liar if they were a compulsive liar, how likely would they tell you the truth- that they were?

If they are a compulsive liar, most likely they don't even know they are lying, so they most likely would swear to you they were telling the truth, even when the truth is staring them in the face. They are so used to lying as a way of life that they don't even realize they are doing it anymore. I should know, by ex-husband and ex-mother in law were one. like mother like son I always said.

Real compulsive liars do not always lie. A person who lies 100% of the time is a fiction.

However, if you're talking about the fictional 100% liar, the answer to the question "Are you a liar?" is "no." Which is the same answer you'd get from a "truth teller."

Never, that is why they are called compulsive liars. They lie so much they believe everything they say is true because where one lie ends another one begins.

They will defend to the death that they are not a compulsive liar, even if they are caught in a lie they will justify it. And, somehow it will be YOUR fault.

I think they'd say no because they don't realize they have a problem. It's tough though. Once you start lieing you have to keep up with the lie. And from when other people lie (or exagerate) it makes things more interesting. No, I'm not saying it's a good thing though.

Peace.

It would be likely if they trust you enough or if they perceive you to be non-judgemental about their habit. However, if you would just like them to admit it so you can prove your point about it, then it would be unlikely.
