We talk of 9% growth, and our Universities churn Graduates/ M.Techs/ Phd's to work for so-called multi-national IT companies etc. But alas! Neither do we have any REAL SCIENTISTS who have significantly contributed to the scientific community nor do we have any REAL ENGINEERS / TECHNOLOGISTS, who could answer our problems. We have very poor infrastructure; our villagers do not have potable drinking water; our health index is even below that of Bangladesh... All these are indicators that our development in Science, Technology and Engineering are very low - if not NIL. What are the REAL REASONS? Any body..? Instead we seem to be "ALSO RANS" mimicking the Western Economic Model. Our so-called Scientists are mere Government Employees, constrained to work in an environment alien to the development of Science. But, it is strange that we have over 500 special Science/ technology/ University/ Industrial Research & Development centers - most of which do not have anything to offer to the World

My step-brother lives in central EU and we're in the UK. His parents seperated when he was 5 and my mother and his dad got together a couple of years thereafter.
His mother ran off with another man, had 2 children and has since left him as she was having a 'fling' with a young boy. His dad and mum have an okay relationship and she still socialises with his dads sister. Step Bro, (let's call him) Clive, stollen from his aunt, his g/mother and us. He brought girls back to his paternal g/ma's and left the evidence on her bed!
He suffers from panic attacks and has been in and out of institutes. He also lies and create events that never happened- like being mugged- catching his mum in bed and others. My mother GAVE him a car and he didn't say thank you. He is in his mid-twenties.
We all know he hasn't had a stable base but is there not a time when one has to accept ones own actions? What is happening here psychologically? Does he hate his parents? Please help. Thanks

Well, im 14 years old and often have weird disturbing dreams.

In my dreams people often die, or get hurt by me or someone/something else.

Don't get me wrong or anything, but im really not a horrible person! Im full of life, love my friends to bits and im bubbly.
I would never dream of hurting anyone but just in my dreams its just.. A feeling i cant describe!
I often feel sad in my dreams, and angry, many of the times scared.
I had this dream last night which was really disturbing:S
I was this girl with a group of my friends and this man kept stalking us.. Killing us off one by one..In my dream,
I went to the door and let my cat in..
(I dont actully have a cat in real life) So anyway, i let my cat in and then something was trying to get in. So i closed the door and i could see some kind of man looking through the glass door trying to find me.

What do these dreams mean?
How can i stop them??
Please help!

You are a member of a team of perimeter guards and forward listening posts. There are forward enemy positions.
You are assigned to team member of a Forward Listening Posts and you have to select another member of the team who will be armed with loaded automatic rifles.
You have the option of selecting Dick Cheney or a crack rifleman who happens to be gay.
Which of the two do you select to stay in a guard positionwith you in a forward listening post during the nighttime hours.

It seems like when ever I start to get close intimently I start pushing them away and do the best I can to stop the relationship. The longest relationship I have ever had was with someone who wanted to wait until marriage so we never had sex. I've been single now for the past 2 year and have not gone on a single date in over a year I finally met this nice woman we went out on a couple dates then we had sex and after an entire night and most of the next day having sex then she finally had to go and we started talking and decided that we had to many differences and we should just remain friends but that isn't really how she felt or in a way how I felt. All I had to do was tell her I wanted her to stay and that we could work things out and she would have stayed. There was only two things that bothered me about her I mean she was like my ideal woman and I pushed her away this doesn't happen when I don't get initmate with someone why do I push them away?

It's easier to censor thoughts with nlp/hypnosis
therefore distractions can be brought down
Do you think its easier to access Samadhi / Dhyana / Jhana
states with the aid of NLP / Hypnosis?

I just purchased a BlackBerry Pearl. Everytime I try to upload my .mp3 files onto my BlackBerry using the Media Manager, I get a fatal error screen. I have a microSD card in my BlackBerry. So it's not that.

How do I transfer music/movies onto my BlackBerry without getting a fatal error message?

(Please, no BS responses.)

Then explain this:

There are little boys who feel like girls at earily ages. They weren't trained by their parents or society to act like girls. In fact, they, & the rest of society, encourage them to act like boys. But the boys at young ages usually don't understand or completely comply, & so they continue to act like the girls they feel they are. Even tell their parents their desires to be princesses, queens, play with dolls & dress like pretend female characters when playing.

Eventually, many of these boys grow up & allow society to socially construct them to act like what "boys" are suppose to act like. Some later learn that being a man is not them, & they become transgendered.

How is gender ONLY a construct when they felt like girls their whole lives. Society didn't tell them they should feel like a girl & behave accordingly. This sounds more like, Gender is FIRST genetic, then later society tries to construct you into what it says you should act like.

Thoughts?

To get the 10 points - I'm looking for original - a time in your life - like in a movie - when the film runs in slow motion - you know - where something has happened to you - good or bad, that had a profound effect on you!

I'm not interested in when you had your first child or when it sank in you were a parent etc., - when you became a parent for the 10th time possibly yes!

Parenthood is inevitable most of the time.

No, I mean a before and after, B.C. to A.D. kind of situation - if you get my drift?

NO RELIGION PLEASE - I don't care when you saw the light!

No, what I want to hear, is something like a particular movie that changed your way of thinking or inspired you.

The turning point after a long illness, when you realised you would recover.

When you received your degree or passed you driving licence (which for me, was probably one of the best days of my life - first time as well surprisingly)!

Maybe a serious fight you had with someone - did you win or lose?

Look, the last months i've been having a series of dreams,i already posted one here before :

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ak6zozJI.Xhq20I99WRErvgjzKIX?qid=20070317231856AAPy5Y4

and here is the 2nd second dream
The dream:
I am in a temple with my sister, there were also other few people there,i think i know some of them. the temple was quite, not crowded, not much illuminated (opposing what i expected),but anyway still peaceful. there was also a swimming pool there.
and suddenly air attacks took place.
rockets started to attack different parts of the temple, specially areas that i was standing. then i ran to other different areas and the rockets chased me there, and i always survive, then i took my sister and ran into a factory with mechanical machines. then three rockets came from three different directions, so i said noway!,we're dead for sure. then time moved in slow motion and then we saw the rockets so close, gently touched a glass window. and nothing happened! :), ?
