I can understand hating stereotypes and sweeping generalizations, but isn't hating all men doing the same thing? At what point does feminism become sexism?

I am intrigued by human tendencies to look for in-groups and out-groups; herd behaviour to identify with discrete categories or identities/labels that allow nomothetic extraoplation of the individual's qualities from those of the broader group.

Gender diversity is increasingly acknowledged in modern psychological literature, people varying in their interests or sexual preference not just between individuals but also within individuals over time in some cases. The clarification of this distinction from gender is important, but also emphasises the semantic confusion that arises when that gender reference point is moved (in transgendered conditions).

Basically, what I am asking is: does the binary distinction of straight or not really serve any useful social function or is it simply an overgeneralisation used to pigeon hole and discriminate?

Have we learnt nothing from the works of Milgram and Zimbado about the dangers of blind adherence to social straight-jackets?

how many people know what the individuals get per day from shaking a tin under your nose collecting for Air ambulance, oxfam, save the children, and many more, did you know these collectors get from fifty pounds per day to ninety pounds then the area rep takes his cut out of each tin, how much golden handshake was paid to the chairman of oxfam when he left about four years ago, I give every week to a cause where not one penny is taken by the collectors that is the Sally/Ann and they are the first on the scene in any disaster, and have been before oxfam was invented

My book says to be saying both things: that when the U.S. exports something (this is net), it earns dollars. But elsewhere it says it is earning foreign currency by this activity.

Have you ever almost fallen asleep, but felt pressured to drive because of your job?

Have you ever almost fallen asleep, & wondered if you were gonna wreck?

Were you struggling to stay awake, blinking, moving around, stretching, turning on the radio just trying to stay awake?

Well I just last year my father left my family for another woman and of course that streesed my out...I often find myself so emotionaly like when I'm watching a movie and really feel the mood about the movie. I didn't use to be like that, it's kinda hard to explain...maybe another example is music, I used to listen to a lot of rap stuff and I still do but I found myself listening to jazz, alternative, oldies and r&b music all the time...it's weird...

The teacher assigned 4 schools of economics:
1. Classical/ Monetarist school
2. Keynesian school
3. Real Business Cycle (Neo Classical)
4. Mainstream theory (Neo-Keynesian)

I'm in classical team and I have to explain what my school does and after everyone explains, questions are asked. I need questions about the weakpoints of the other economic schools. So please list any questions that would throw off the other teams from 2 to 4. Thank You.

ive been having this problem for a while. during my classes im really nervous about answering questions out loud while a teacher is lecturing. for a long time, i would just sit quietly and not answer anything. whenever i thought about the answer and it turned out right, i'd regret not saying it out loud. i got better recently, i actually started to blurt out answers here and there. but 2 days ago, a few of the answers i yelled out were wrong. then i blurted out a really embarassing answer and felt like a total idiot. the whole class laughed @ my answer. it also didnt help that the guy who im always trying to compete w/ for the better grade got a near perfect score on an exam while i got a low B.

advice on how to grow balls?

When i get a thought or want in my head i always become obsessed with it and i try to do school work (college) and end up researching on the net or mulling over it.It can be from anything from wanting a pair of shoes to new computer.the latest is wanting a pet and i'm waiting for a yes or no from the people i lease the place by. it says i have to ask for permission so have written to them 2 months back, emailed the real estate and still havent heard anything so just waiting and will try ringing (have tried ringing but they said to contact a property manager who i emailed in the end). i keep looking up the local pounds and pet shops online and checking my email and phone for answers. I know I'll be disappointed if i cant have a pet but I really really do want a pet for a companion since i'm living by myself and can see myself taking good care of it etc, no probs there. its just waiting and wanting and i'm so inpatient. whats wrong with me? how do i get over being impatient? am i mad?

ABORTION E-CARDS
http://www.4exhale.org/support/cards/index.php

I think you're strong smart thoughtful and caring
[ even though you just proved the opposite on all counts ]

I believe in you and your ability to make the best decision.
I think you did the right thing.
[ Let's face it you would have abused the hell out of it anyway. ]

The promise of God is to be with us through all of life's transitions
God will never leave you or forsake you
May you find comfort in God's constant love
Know my prayers are with you at this time
[ You'll need them because he might consider abortion murder and you'll get sent to hell ]

If you could use one word to describe this idea what word would you use?
