cumbustion is when a gas egnites into flames and burns your house down because the pilot light went out on your stove and you tried to light your cigarette. thats combustion.

like a forceful reaction, like for good alternative fuels to work they must have good combustion or else you will have to use more of it, and then its not really worth it...For example old steam powered objects, the water only provided a 2% combustion when it was boiled and then steamed..in a cars now gas provides only 8% combustion so for all the money that you spend on gas only 8% is running your engine, the rest is just out the exhaust..

ignition/firing of fuel in a closed chamber like in engines where petrol mixture is burnt and thus produced gases pushes the cylinder which makes the car going
