Women have several right in our constitution,but it is not enoughly made practical.The abuse against women and little girls are increasing.so a sudden act is need.

Just one simple thought:
Indian women should refuse to get married and have sex until they prove that they can support themselves. That will be biggest gift we can give them. - We can even propose a law to this effect - fathers need not save for daughters wedding and dowry and jewels - fathers should spend every last penny on the girls education and the girl should spend on her own wedding...
They are taught to believe that marriage is the end to their freedom, and once they have sex they are considered to be bound to that one guy however "bad" he is
Because once she becomes independent, and can think and live on her own... the man that comes into her life has to be more than a bread winner... she can do the "bread winning" part very well... now she will look at his other qualities... will be be a good friend to me for life, a good father to my kids, will he support my decisions and ambititons... etc .. As an independent woman she can refuse to marry smokers, drinkers, men who go to brothels, men who control... so much
WE NEED A LAW THAT DISALLOWS WOMEN TO MARRY TILL THEY CAN SUPPORT THEMSELVES FINANCIALLY - that is the answer.

It is sad, but true, that India is a complex nation where we may have a nuclear scientist who would fall at the feet of a Sanyasin he/ she believes as God; where in spite of the law prohibiting child labor is to be strictly enforced, our own leaders and statesmen would employ children in their homes; and where, even in spite of having strict laws to ban child marriage, many would be seen to be effecting such marriages under the very constituencies of Chief Ministers and may be even in the Prime Minister's constituency. Under such circumstances, the only way to make sure that the RIGHTS of GIRLS/ WOMEN are protected is by MAKING SURE THAT EVERY EDUCATED PERSON VOCIFEROUSLY AND VIGOROUSLY STANDS UP TO PROTECTING THESE RIGHTS. Though it is a far cry, that alone would pave the way for the eradication of various discriminatory tendencies. It may also be noted that women themselves are also perpetrators of crime against women in may families.

I have to agree with Hungry's answer. I'll also add that if women and little girls are being abused, by whom and why? Must be Men what the hell is going on in their brains?

Pass a law making it manditory to give a boy a Barbie and Ken doll set and a girl a football and chemistry set.

there is already the VAWA (violence against women act)
which is stupid considering it it beneficial to only 1 gender and not both men and women thus dispelling "equality".
women are not the only ones receiving violence. people are assaulted robbed raped and killed all the time. its a part of life, while it is displeasent all have to deal with it. not just women

PARENTS ARE AT FAULT FOR ALL THE ABOVE! TYPICALLY, THE OLDER YOU ARE TODAY, THE BETTER PARENT YOU WERE OR WARE OR WILL BE! THE YOUNGER WE ALL ARE, THE WORSE OF A PARENT WE ARE! IN OTHER WORDS, MOST OF OUR PARENTS WERE BETTER PARENTS THAN WE ARE! AS A RESULT, WE KEEP MAKING OUR OWN PROBLEMS...AND THIS IS BUT ONE OF THEM!
