When I am writing on a line and if I am not careful to conciously place my writing on the line I wind up writing above about this much above it = (the distance between the lines.) Any ideas?

I'm having trouble in my Physical Anthropology class. I am taking the class online, so there is no teacher lecturing the info. I basically have to read 3 chapters in two weeks and soak up the info as best as I can.

This subject is proving to be very difficult for me. The first test I got a D, the second C/B. On the second exam I made flash cards and studied them and read all the chapters I was supposed to read(although I will admit skiming through the last chapter).
The flash cards seem to help a little, though.

What are good ways to prepare myself for this class? Hard sciences are NOT my strongest subjects. How can I study better? I'm willing to do hard work, but it's frustrating when I do put in work and it doesn't really effect my grade.

Help!

Because I do. A lot of people refer to me as 'really smart' but I don't think that I really am. I am fine with calling myself 'intelligent', but not smart. Not really sure of my own reasoning on this, but do you feel that there's REALLY a difference in the words or that they are interchangeable?

We were having a debate in class today. My professor said that in the work world, if a co-worker or boss asks you to get a sandwich for them when you leave for lunch you should never get it and say "No, I'm not coming back." He said because once you get a sandwich for them once they'll make you get it everyday.

I disagreed because I've never had this problem and I always believe that being polite and caring for people is the right thing, as long as you don't let them take advantage of you.

I'M 19.yrs. old and my mom told me today that I need to look better...like put more makeup on and try to look pretty...because she was saying hat I have a very low self-esteem and that's why I don't look good because I don't love myself. I got a flashback of when I was 12 and she used to say the same things to me..comparing me to my cousins who would dye their hairs and everything... I dress good, I have always been like that. When I go out I try to look good because I like it and put make up etc...but the past week I have been exercising and I've been in my gym clothes during the afternoons...and i guess that's why she thinks I look ugly. What is wrong with her? IM 5'7 and weight 150lbs and I like to take care of myself....but why does she pressure me to "look good" and be feminine....otherwise she would think Im a lesbian and this happens to my little sister too....and if we wear pants a lot she are masculine...what is wrong??!!!

We won't use it, promise...

Mine's "Quince" and when I hear it I get an unconrtollable urge to kidnap Martha Stewart. It's a little difficult and time consuming as I live in Australia... Thankfully quince isn't such a popular fruit these days... but I do try not to visit nursing homes on a regular basis, just in case.
