I thought Women's Studies was looking at how gender affects different aspects in society. Why then is this forum all about constantly insulting and denigrating females? In fact some of it is pretty sick.

Is being so scared to stay home alone part of OCD? Like when you're home alone, you check behind you alot and around corners and if a shadow is different you automatically think someone is in the house to get you?

When I think of my life so far I can really say that I've been having huge ups and downs.I mean, apart from what happens to everybody during life, there are periods in which I feel stronger and have a can do attitude. In others I feel so vulnerable and weak.I just wish I were more even.I can smile and be happy of those up periods but some of the down ones are just terrible so say the least.
Does it happen to any of you too?

Say a person is dieing on a street corner, a man walks by...really wants to help but can't. contemplates it, wants to do it but somehow isnt able to. Suddenly a man coincidently walks into this person dieing, even though he had no intention of helping him, but now that he's walked into him, he does help him. Which person is considered the better person, why or why not?

I personally, as a girl, want to be able to work and earn equal wages to a man in the same job.

I am also happy to pay for my own meal when on a date. If a man offers, he can pay. But equally, I should offer sometimes too.

I think that both women and men should, if conscription occurs in the country, be able to go out and fight. However, the main child-carer, male or female, should look after the children, as the children clearly cannot (and should not) go into battle.

Another issue with women may be periods, especially if the war is long... Women should perhaps be conscripted to roles in the army where they won't be affected as much by periods. Or perhaps stop periods with medication.

I think that men should not have to be tied to 'macho' roles, and should be allowed to show emotion if they so wish. I think the whole negative way of looking at sensitive men should be abolished.

Equally, women should not be seen in a negative light for being butch or boyish

What do you think?

What color was the apple you saw in your imagination? What color was the stem? Did you actually see the color? How did you see the color when your eyes were closed? what were you actually looking at if your eyes are closed? Do you dream in color, how is it possible to dream in color, if color is only something you see, youre not really seeing things when you dream its just inside your head?

I believe in authentic love, that people are generally enjoyable, that a healthy loving relationship is obtainable, passionate sexual relationship with a loved one shared exclusively with one another for years...decades...is possible. That life really is good. Sucky things happen in life...but that life is still generally very joyful and celebrating. I'm happy...simply because I am. Some try to make a person of that mind thought think that I'm living in a fantasy world, that what I feel to be reality (as I noted above here) is not really what the world is about.

Yes, there are challanges, dips, lessons, pains in life...But, those moments are experienced and move past...And...life actually is magnificant.

Why are there so many more ' grumpy ' minds and hearts out there than bright ones ? And...why do SO MANY want to tell those of bright hearts that that way of thinking is not reality?

I'm a celebrating 50 soul and heart. I've experienced life.

Your thoughts ?

Yes I am generalizing because this is in GENERAL! MEANING MOST OF THE TIME and not all the time!!!

Do you have any credible proof of what you are saying? I'm pretty sure if I had a vagina I could give birth and take it. Plus I got another one for you. If you were too punch a guy and a woman in the stomach, I'm pretty sure the woman would be on the ground crying, whereas the guy would just take it.So much for being ''wussies''. I think this could also be applied to childbirth.

As for raising kids, my dad did a much better job at it than my mom who hit bad me a few times and insulted me.

What are your opinions?

I've known two people from different walks of life who tell their stories of "living on the edge" but can't understand why they both are scared to do things like spend the night in a city they aren't familiar with or are overly nervous about things?
