I personally, as a girl, want to be able to work and earn equal wages to a man in the same job.
I am also happy to pay for my own meal when on a date. If a man offers, he can pay. But equally, I should offer sometimes too.
I think that both women and men should, if conscription occurs in the country, be able to go out and fight. However, the main child-carer, male or female, should look after the children, as the children clearly cannot (and should not) go into battle.
Another issue with women may be periods, especially if the war is long... Women should perhaps be conscripted to roles in the army where they won't be affected as much by periods. Or perhaps stop periods with medication.
I think that men should not have to be tied to 'macho' roles, and should be allowed to show emotion if they so wish. I think the whole negative way of looking at sensitive men should be abolished.
Equally, women should not be seen in a negative light for being butch or boyish
What do you think?

Oh, I think sexual 'roles' shouldn't be set in stone either. Men who sleep around should be just as condemned (or condoned) as women who do so.
And pregnancy I haven't included as it is something I am totally undecided on. I think that men should have rights over their unborn child, but only if they have absolutely promised to look after it. With women, it is easier to allow them the decision as they are 'attached' to the baby for 9months and have no escape. Breastfeeding, being healthier than bottlefeeding, may also mean that many women will be attached to the child for a relatively long time, even if it was wanted by the man. The woman also has to go through with the discomfort and pain of later stages of pregnancy and birth.

I also think neither women or men should have to conform to physical stereotypes. Men should be allowed to have long hair and women should be allowed to have short hair, and not be judged for it. Men should be allowed to shave (!) and women not to shave if they so wish. Relationships with the opposite sex are full of personal preferences anyway, and I for one love men with long hair! Though not with shaved legs!

Ok when did I say that women should be forced to be masculine? I didn't. I said they should be FREE to be who they are. For you, that is being girly. But NOT FOR ALL WOMEN. Not everyone should be forced to conform to gender roles. This especially applies to men, who are discriminated against for seeming girly, often violently.

'To make it more equal they should also have breast milk banks for men who have a young baby and no wife to feed it. Just like sperm banks basically.' - If the women agree to this and get paid, perhaps. But sperm banks = you have to w*nk off occasionally. Breastfeeding banks would mean that a woman would have to have her breasts pumped (possibly painfully.) Which would you prefer, having the pain of milk being sucked out of you or the pleasure of w*nking?!

Gender is a social construct and women who think they were born to wear long skirts and have long hair are brainwashed. They believe this because they have been coerced by the media and society to believe that there are actual differences other that the obvious anatomy.
I pity these women who think that they have equal employment opportunities because some day they will have a very rude awakening.
I have been a married feminist for years and you would have to have blinders on to not notice the gross inequalities evident in our world towards women. Minority women are even more marginalized.
Feminism is about ridding the world of ALL inequality not just that with gender. That means discrimination because of race, colour, religion, race, language, disability, age etc. Why is is that those who don't realize even what feminism is are so against it.
It suggest to me that those who are afraid of it have been taught this and it is not something that they have thought of themselves.

Convenient to say you want to defend your country and blame it on your period. Then women will say they do as much as men in the army and do more difficult jobs when men are being killed on the battle field.
ALSO: Women should get the same punishments for commiting the same crime. Men should not go to jail without proper proof that they raped a woman. Women just say ''that guy raped me'' iand hop! The guy goes to jail.
Domestic violence should be regarded as equally important for men and women. Women get away with it men don't.
Equally, men should not be seen in a negative light for being girly. Based this on your sentence. (Equally, women should not be seen in a negative light for being butch or boyish)
If a man and woman agree to have a baby the woman should not be able to abort it. After all they agreed to it and it's also the man's sperm.
This whole paragraph is ''sexist''.

I never heard of any woman saying it hurted when a baby sucked their t*ts. They'd basically have to use a similar mechanism.
Oh well at least you agree with everything else I said. And why are the standards for being a soldier, cop, fireman or miner lower for women? A man could fail the tests and still be better than other women. Since he has higher requirements than the women do.

Newsflash: Women already get equal pay for equal work. When they come up with this "women get paid less" lie they're hiding something.
Take a man who's worked consistently at a job for 5 years. Take a woman who's been there just as long, but takes maternity leave for no pay or reduced pay. When you average out the pay it looks like she's making less per hour...in reality she's making the same amount per hour. Plus, men are more likely to take riskier jobs--which pay more. Men are more likely to be risk-takers.
Women should be feminine, and men should be masculine. The differences between the genders are NOT social conditioning, but rather inborn. Women TEND to be more social, while guys TEND to be better at math.
You're advocating androgyny. That's not good. Men and women are NOT the same and should not be forced to be the same! The differences between men and women are complementary--like pieces of a puzzle. They complete each other!
I feel very feminine with my long hair and my long skirts, thank you very much! I will not have someone telling me I should act, think, or dress like a man!

I agree 100 percent. Why should females and males earn different wages for the same work. The other thing is why do men make a stink when they have to pay for their kids after a split? I think that is fair so the kids grow up not being poor. I know feminists and they are not dykes just girls who are trying to get by like the guys do. Some guys on here are pretty f'd up, must be cause they can't get a date.

for sure, adult men are the two. The heroes AND the villains, and each thing in between. i think of this is annoying to state unequivocally that adult men are STEREOTYPED in the media for basically this reason...there are, and continuously have been, an array of assorted roles that adult men portray in video clips and in television. the jobs obtainable to ladies human beings have become broader besides, yet i think of ladies human beings in the media are nevertheless pigeon holed a sprint extra. and that i disagree that girls human beings are -continuously- the harmless sufferers. It relatively relies upon on the context. The "femme fatale" is a properly-enjoyed movie cliche that without difficulty includes innovations. while you're conversing approximately horror video clips, with the male psycho killer or loopy sociopath stalking the clumsy, busty blond, then neither gender comes out on staggering with that one, staggering? usual, i think of the two genders get the shaft slightly whilst it includes the media.

Men and women are equal, just different. Two plus two equals four. The value is equal - the process getting there - was different. I where I live there isn't such a tendency towards binary, fascist thinking. Americans in particular have little or no capacity NOR TOLERANCE for critical thinking, and an astounding number of people swallow 'hook line and sinker' whatever the popular media tells them to think. The short paper below may be found on the American Psychological Association's webpage. I challenge anyone to find a more authoritative source on the subject. This is NOT an article found in the likes of 'People' magazine (where Americans are getting their totally screwy, off-base and often downright incorrect information).
'MEN AND WOMEN FOUND MORE SIMILAR THAN PORTRAYED IN POPULAR MEDIA, ACCORDING TO RESEARCH ON GENDER DIFFERENCES'
Washington — The popular media has portrayed men and women as psychologically different as two planets – Mars and Venus - but these differences are vastly overestimated and the two sexes are more similar in personality, communication, cognitive ability and leadership than realized, according to a review of 46 meta-analyses conducted over the last 20 years.
According to the meta-analysis of studies on gender differences reported on in the current issue of the American Psychologist, males and females from childhood to adulthood are more alike than different on most but not all psychological variables, said psychologist Janet S. Hyde, Ph.D., of the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Psychological differences based on gender were examined in studies that looked at a number of psychological traits and abilities to determine how much gender influenced an outcome. The traits and variables examined were cognitive abilities, verbal and nonverbal communication, social or psychological traits like aggression or leadership, psychological well-being like self-esteem, motor behaviors like throwing distance and moral reasoning.
Gender differences accounted for either zero or a very small effect for most of the psychological variables examined, according to Hyde. Only motor behaviors (throwing distance), some aspects of sexuality and heightened physical aggression showed marked gender differences.
Furthermore, gender differences seem to depend on the context they were measured in, said Hyde. In studies where gender norms are removed, researchers demonstrated how important gender roles and social context were in determining a person’s actions. In one study where participants in the experimental group were told that they were not identified as male or female nor wore any identification, neither sex conformed to a stereotyped image when given the opportunity to act aggressively. They did the opposite to what was expected.
Over-inflated claims of gender difference seen in the mass media affect men and women in work, parenting and relationships, said Hyde. Studies of gender and evaluation of leaders in the workplace show that women who go against the caring, nurturing stereotype may pay for it dearly when being hired or evaluated. This also happens with the portrayals of relationships in the media. Best-selling books and popular magazine articles assert that women and men can’t get along because they communicate too differently, said Dr. Hyde. Maybe the problem is that they give up prematurely because they believe they can’t change what they mistakenly believe is an innate trait, she added.
Children also suffer the consequences of these exaggerated claims of gender difference. There is a wide spread belief that boys are better in math than girls, said Dr Hyde. But according to this meta-analysis, boys and girls perform equally in math until high school where boys do gain a small advantage. Unfortunately, elementary aged mathematically-talented girls may be overlooked by parents who have lower expectations for a daughter’s success in math versus a son’s likelihood to succeed in math. Research has shown that parents’ expectations for their children’s math success relate strongly to a child’s self-confidence and his or her performance.
The misrepresentation of how different the sexes are, which is not supported by the scientific evidence, harms men and women of all ages in many different areas of life, said Dr. Hyde. “The claims can hurt women’s opportunities in the workplace, dissuade couples from trying to resolve conflict and communication problems and cause unnecessary obstacles that hurt children and adolescents’ self-esteem.”
