Ok i found this spider hanging off a single web strand near the window of my Dining room.
It's total diameter is about the size of my fingernail to my pinky (grownup female). It's brown in color, short legs that arch, hair on body, large hairy fangs, small head, on the main part of it's body are white stripes across. What kind is this and is it poisonis?

So I am sure that many of you, like I have, saw the featured video on youtube featuring the otters that were "holding hands." If you haven't seen it, this is the link to show what I am talking about:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=epUk3T2Kfno
(it is unbearably precious)
I was curious as to whether otters (or other animals in general) really show affection/intimate social connection that way, or if the gesture serves some other purpose. Thanks!

According to ABC News, "Knut is the first baby polar bear to survive in the Berlin zoo in 30 years. His mother, Tosca, a grumpy 20-year-old former circus bear, abandoned him and his brother to die on a rock in the bear pit after they were born on Dec. 5, 2006.

Keepers scooped the cubs out of the compound with fishing net and placed both bear babies in an incubator.

Only Knut survived, and he was brought up as a pampered baby, fed with human milk and cod-liver oil every half hour."

You may express your opinion or just add your name.

I'll be turning this in, with all the answers, to the newspapers.

Thanks so much for the responses!

She wants to ride an elephant, and I am unable to find a place that gives elephant rides. Do you know where I can go and still stay in the continental US?

Considering that pigeons apparently only have 2 functions, (making babies & crapping everywhere), why do they enjoy their exhalted status around the world? Not everyone who feeds them, traps and eats them. I know of people who actually prepare hot meals for pigeons. Why?

I never ever see it bite anybody... It just flies around .
And it loves to be near lights.
What is the purpose of that big ugly thang?
Why it dies when it only been in the house for 2 minutes?

That big ugly long legs mosquito needs to be in Africa
with Elephants and other big animals...

I don't see why God made those.

The little tiny mosquitoes with short legs, they are so
sneaky and they are more aggressive and bite
people more than big long legs mosquitoes.

I don't get it.

My class and i just visited the NY Aquarium by Coney Island today and while we watched the sea lion show i thought to myself: are the animals really safe and healthy here or in the wild?
i mean sure they get enough food, but what if too much? They get protection but then again new baby animals wouldn't be able to experience the real world. Their parents might forget how the wild was and only rely on humans. Do you think its fair for the animals to do all those stunts? Please share your thoughts :D
