Did you catch a lizard?
Most lizards eat bugs. You can even buy crickets and mealworms at the pet store.
But if you plan to keep a lizard, it needs a proper habitat. Specifically, it needs a warm "basking" area and a cooler area in the cage, so it can go back and forth. The basking area is important for digestion. They also need water of course.
Unless it is very small, most lizards don't eat every day. You would have to experiment to see how much it eats and how often. They tend to eat more in summer. Usually they won't eat dead bugs, only live ones.

Lizards feed mostly on insects, small animals, snails and worms, although some lizards eat plants. Even though lizards have teeth, there is little chewing of food. Many lizards simply seize their prey, bite it until it stops struggling and then swallow it. Lizards recognize prey either by visual clues or by scent and taste. By protruding its tongue, a lizard is able to pick up airborne particles, which dissolve in the fluid on the tongue. These particles are then transferred by the tongue to the Jacobson's organs located in the front area of the roof of the mouth. The Jacobsons organs have a connection to the scent lobes of the brain.

This really depends on the type of lizard. If you have a little anole as a pet, give it newly molted crickets or light-colored mealworms. You can also catch cabbage butterflies and lacewings in season. They'll eat spiders. All kinds of things.

If you are just asking what lizards eat in the ecosystem: mostly insects of all kinds. Some lizards will eat leaves to suppement their water intake.

It depends on the type of lizard. I'm assuming you're referring to the common "small" lizards. They're insectivores -- they eat insects and spiders.
