Depends what type of a crocodile. I think a smaller species of crocodile could get taken down by a tiger. However if a tiger went up against a nile crocodile or a saltwater crocodile I think that things would be different. Lions in Africa have been eaten by the Nile Crocodile and they always are wary of them when they drink by the water. No offense to the tiger, which is a very formidable predatory animal, but I think that large species of crocodiles are much more successful in the world. They have been around since the time of the dinosaurs. With their armored hide and quick strike not to mention powerful jaws they can take down most larger animals. Against a tiger I feel that a large crocodile would prevail in the end since it is a perfect killing machine.

I believe the tiger definitely holds the advantage on land against the crocodile. But in the water the crocodile is a very good swimmer and I think it can have an advantage especially if the crocodile could cause an injury to the tiger and can get him in a peculiar spot in the deep water where it would have better mobility and the tiger might struggle to be able to obtain a strategic advantage.

they operate in different environments ,

the tiger would win on land

in the water the crocodile has the advantage of being able to grab and go below the water ,with out drowning, going backwards with the use of his tail .
on the land the tiger could dance around the crocodile and jump on his back

both have a mighty bite

I think the crock might win because even though the tiger has sharp claws and teeth, it can't realy penetrate the crocadile hyde, leaving the tiger defenseless agenst it's 2000 pound bite force. I am sorry, I love tigers but the crock has better defense.

it matters if it takes place in water or land. If it is water a croc. If land a tiger. Well a tiger could rap there paws around the crocs mouth. but tats my opinoin.

If Steve Irwin can tackle a Croc and then get killed by a harmless stingray, I'm going with a tiger.

no way, sorry i have hunted gator in the states and i have seen gators 18 feet long, crocks get even bigger, they have 3000 lbs of pressure per square inch of jawbone they get ahold of something, well, that's it.and the bite of a tiger wouldn't hardly penetrate there hide,i have cut up gators and there skin is very thick, hard as heck to cut ,have to use a hand saw sometimes,

the croc would win unless it was land bound and on it's stomach, then it would be a fest to the tiger.
