I never ever see it bite anybody... It just flies around .
And it loves to be near lights.
What is the purpose of that big ugly thang?
Why it dies when it only been in the house for 2 minutes?

That big ugly long legs mosquito needs to be in Africa
with Elephants and other big animals...

I don't see why God made those.

The little tiny mosquitoes with short legs, they are so
sneaky and they are more aggressive and bite
people more than big long legs mosquitoes.

I don't get it.

It's just a crane fly, perfectly harmless. It doesn't bite. A lot of them don't even eat as adults. As larvae, they are called leatherjackets and live in the soil eating roots. Too many of them can be bad for grass, but usually no big deal.

They are called crane flies, and they won't hurt you. Like many insects that fly at night, they're confused by the light: bugs orient themselves by flying so that the bright moon or sun is above them. When they try to do this with your porch light, they wind up flying around the light.

God made crane flies for the same reason he made you and me. But the crane fly, being a modest (albeit scary-looking) creature is likely a greater credit to Him than we humans ever will be.

The "big mosquitos" are not actually mosquitos. They are a completely different species of bug that has the same general appearance on a much larger scale.

They are often called mosquito hawks.

I agree its a crane fly. They are harmless, and feed on nectar.
