I hate snakes and I want to know if they hate anything... a spice, or scent, or an herb...like the way fleas hate eucalyptus. Help!!?

I want them to hate me.

I live in southern california and it rained today which brought out a ton of silverfish looking insects. However, they are not silverfish nor are they centipedes. These move slow and kind of have a curl to them...They are black and seem to have a little shell for a torso and also jump when contact with water. Not fleas either, these are much bigger about a 1/4-1/2 inch. Maybe a cross between a huge flea and silverfish...Thanks

What is the niche of the orangutan? Do they have a specific role in the environment, or is their purpose to eat and reproduce?

Please don't repeat any of those ridiculous ideas that have some basis in scientific evidence. We want to know what REALLY happened!

I think I saw a pair of them around 1 AM, but I can't be sure. I couldn't tell at first, but when I got close enough and my depth perception came back, I realized they were huge! They could have eaten my cat (about 15 pounds) for dinner and had room for seconds. I got a flashlight for a better look and they were the right color, plus they had the telltale "horns" on their heads, but don't other owls have that? But what owls even come close to that size?

I've seen Great Horned Owls in captivity, but never heard their calls. These two were calling for over an hour, and one had a deep, booming voice while the other had a slightly higher one, but the calls were still similar. Think they were the same? I looked up recordings online. There was one with two owls, but I couldn't tell if the second one was a deeper voice or just further away.

I thought they were just migrating through, but these two were calling for an hour or more. Do owls have territorial calls like some wild mammals?

I'm really into big cats, and watching so many animal planet shows make me want to do what they do. On their show "Growing up Tiger" is what inspires me the most. Maybe I'm not searching right, but I can't seem to find any colleges that offer a degree in Zoology. Suggestions? Also, with a degree in Zoology what are my career options?

We recently found this caterpillar crawling along the drive way. We havenever seen anything like it and the kids wantto know what it is, We put it in a bug catcher with some grass and it seems to be forming some sort of web around the grass. it is actually starting to look like a cocoon. when he is spread out, he is probably about 10015 cm's long and about 1.5 cm's in width. he is very hairy and looks like he has spikes on him. he is mostly brown but has these yellow dots on his back. his little legs look like little suckers. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

Assume an owl eats fifty 1g insects and one 100g rat. In terms of biomass, did the insects or rat contribute the most to the owls diet? How does foraging affect this? Is quality or quantity of prey more important?

If you could help me out with any of these, or give some links to any helpful sites, that would be awesome :]]]
