According to ABC News, "Knut is the first baby polar bear to survive in the Berlin zoo in 30 years. His mother, Tosca, a grumpy 20-year-old former circus bear, abandoned him and his brother to die on a rock in the bear pit after they were born on Dec. 5, 2006.

Keepers scooped the cubs out of the compound with fishing net and placed both bear babies in an incubator.

Only Knut survived, and he was brought up as a pampered baby, fed with human milk and cod-liver oil every half hour."

You may express your opinion or just add your name.

I'll be turning this in, with all the answers, to the newspapers.

Thanks so much for the responses!

Knut should definitely live. He's so adorable, how could anyone be so mean and say, "Hey, lets feed them to the seals or give him to Shamoo as a snack."? Even if someone was joking about that while saying it is still mean. Definitely add my name to your petition(or whatever you would like to call it).

He is very cute and I would like to see him kept alive. Not just because he is cute, but why can't a human raised animal be kept in captivity, they let it happen for lots of other animals ie pandas. Animal Activists need to be burnt at the stake next to PETA activists. Claim to have animals best interests at5 heart when they are often more heartless than others.

Aslong as it isn't dying of an illness, aslong as its not badly deformed and aslong as its in good health YES it should live. It deserves a chance

I think they should just feed him to hungry seals as would happen in the wild. Or put him in Shamoo's swimming pool and see what would happen in nature.
