I recently started putting in applications for jobs. I have a 11 month old and I have NEVER let a stranger watch him. We have moved out of state and I have no friends or family around to help me. My husband makes enough for me to stay at home. I wanted to go back to work to just get out of the house. I had a phone interview and I am expecting a second interview. I am getting cold feet. It started out that I can't find anyone around here who is accepting infants, I searched and called every name on the military referral lists. I am on the waiting list on the base, I even called places out of the phone book! No luck! Now I worry about what I will miss out on and is it really worth it to go back to work after paying child care fees??

Any thoughts? I need some REAL advice. Please!?

Thank you.

I need some neat ideas to give the mother to be at her shower. I've already been to two of her showers and got stuff for the baby, but I thought for this last shower I could get stuff for the mommy. Does anyone have any good ideas that I could put in a basket for her?

I tried to do a search for this on Yahoo and WebMD, but i couldn't find information on women.

I know the prolactin levels are controlled by the pituitary gland in the brain. The chemical is also elevated when breast feeding. I am NOT breast feeding.

I can't find any info on this topic and TTC? I know it will cause me to stop ovulating, irregular cycles, but I dont know anything else about it.

After my daughter was born I breastfed for a year. When I weaned her off the breastmilk my breasts shrunk two cup sizes. I was very stressed at the time so I waited until I gained weight. Now my daughter will be two years old, I'm the same size I was before I was pregnant and my breasts are still smaller than they were before the pregnancy. What happened?

I have only had one ultrasound to date and that was at twelve weeks. The hospital I go through only does two or three ultrasounds if you are having a normal pregnancy. They don't give the second one until you are 24 weeks (which I am next week). They try to make the second one a 4D one if the equipment is available. I am very excited and nervous because I really want to know what gender my baby is. My question is how do 4D ultrasounds work? Are they invasive and should I expect anything different? How many of you found out the genders of your babies through 4D ultra sounds. Because if its harder to find out through a 4D then I will have them do the regular one.
Thanks and any advice is appreciated.

My husband and I are planning on having a baby within this next year. I was wondering what I should do before we start trying. Should I start working out? and other things.

I have two sons who are named Andrew Scott and Joseph Raymond. My wife is pregnant again and we are at a loss for a name if it is another boy. If it is a girl, she will be named Evelyn Belle. We like strong well known names. Not interested in anything unique or a fad name. Can you help? Would like suggestions for first and middle name. Last name is Gibson.

I'm looking at fixing up an older, metal pram.

Gender of the future occupant is unknown at this point.

Please stop me from spray-painting it fluorescent purple -- unless, of course, you think that's a great idea. The standard navy/black seems (1) like a good idea, and (2) a bit dull.

I haven't had a period for the last year and half .. because of pregnancy and then breastfeeding for 10 months. I have quit feeding for 3 weeks now and still no period.. is this still normal? Also I am still leaking every once in awhile.. I thought my milk would have dried up by now? I was going to and probably still will call the doctor but I wondered if this had happened to anyone else? It might just take longer then I had thought??

She took care of my son about two times, and when she started to take care of him less about a week after I asked for it back, because I have a 10 month old baby and I was going to use it for when she turns 1. I asked for it back, and she said she didn't have it, and than she said she threw it away! I just bought it and spent 70 dollars on the umbrella stroller. She hasn't even offered to pay me back for it or buy another one. What should I do? It's not like I can go out and spend $ 70 dollars over and over again

The majority of us dont set out to become a single mum, but the few that do, make it harder for the rest of us. We are not all teenagers who dont care about our kids!
Being a single mum is a hard enough job, without having to defend ourselves all the time!
When we go to work, we are criticised for leaving our children in daycare all the time, but if we dont go to work, then we are criticised for scrounging off the government! I am a single mum on government benefits, and also a full time mature student. I am going back to education and want to go to uni, but people have criticised me for leaving my kids in nursery, and called me selfish! If i was a married mum, with a husband or family member to look after the kids, then no-one would moan about me going to uni, so why should i have to sit on my bum and then get moaned at for that!!! Any comments please!

Especially when it's medically impossible to get a real period while pregnant since it's the shedding of the endometrium (uterine lining) necessary for pregnancy? I just keep hearing women say they had their period during their pregnancy and I have to wonder if they no idea what a period really is and what causes it. (Keep in mind that I do know that spotting due to other reasons is possible during pregnancy. It happened to me during my pregnancy.)

Here's the literal definition of menstruation (from http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/menstruation):

Main Entry: men·stru·a·tion
Pronunciation: "men(t)-strü-'wA-sh&n, men-'strA-
Function: noun
: a discharging of blood, secretions, and tissue debris from the uterus that recurs in nonpregnant breeding-age primate females at approximately monthly intervals and that is considered to represent a readjustment of the uterus to the nonpregnant state following proliferative changes accompanying the preceding ovulation.

Her middle name would be Lynn cause thats my middle name and I said so :o) but I dont really like how the names sound together...and besides what would her nickname be? Rella? Mar? He already pitched it to his mom and she's beside herself with joy. Should i burst her bubble or go with the flow? I mean, I do have first dibs on boy names... help.

OK, so I checked yesterday and my IUD fell out. My question is, did you get your period right away or when did it start? I've been thinking lately that I might be pregnant, with most of the signs, but I'm not sure when it fell out. I took 4 test and all neg. in the last month (thinking the IUD was still in), but we all know it doesn't mean I'm not preg. I've been cramping for about two weeks, but no period, so I just wanted to know how long did it take you to start?
