I need some neat ideas to give the mother to be at her shower. I've already been to two of her showers and got stuff for the baby, but I thought for this last shower I could get stuff for the mommy. Does anyone have any good ideas that I could put in a basket for her?

She's my sister-in-law!

I think I should add that she lives in Michigan while I like in West Virginia!

get her a gift certificate for a pregnancy massage. I know a lot of places offer these and they are specially designed for pregnant women.

Look up her address on internet (Yahoo Maps) and see if there is a mall near her house. Check the mall website or information line to find out if they have a photography studio (JC Penney, Picture Place, etc.) Then give her a gift certificate to that studio. If she's already had two showers, she probably already has tons of "stuff" - a gift certificate to a photography studio is something she can really use and still come away with a wonderful momento.

I think you are on the right idea… something for her. How about:

•A Spa Treatment - i.e. once a week for a month
•Dinner Night Out with Hubby w/Babysitting
•Babysitting Coupons
•Maid Service
•A Weekend Get Away w/ Babysitting
•A one shot complete Yard Service for the Father
•A Mother Child Exercising Program
•Friends Bring Dinner Every Night for a Month (31 friends)
•If She Has Other Children, Someone to watch them once a week
•Anything that might give some help for the Parents

You really are a kind person to attend 3 showers for the same person! Give yourself a pat on the back!

As far as gift, why not make up a couple of ready-to-freeze casseroles for after the baby is born so she doesn't have to cook.

Maybe a subscription to a Parenting magazine.

Or how about a nice robe and slippers for the hospital so she doesn't have to be stuck in the tacky hospital gowns after she gives birth?

I would create a date basket. Maybe a box with movie tickets, pop-corn, sweet treats, and a gift certificate to a simple restaurant. Remind her that her marriage needs t.l.c too! Everyone I ever talk to about having kids (older couples) the trick is to remember to go on dates, that there was life and will be life after kids.

I gave a Mommy to be 2-2 hours of babysitting and she said it was the best present she ever received.

bath and body, snacks for after she has the baby, free pizza gift cards so she don't have to cook. Maybe some nail polish and remover so she could do her nails or something. A new makeup bag. Magazines and crossword books, and pens of corse.

I'd say some Burt's Bees Baby Bee products. They're gentle enough for baby and nice enough to be used by mom.
