I'm looking at fixing up an older, metal pram.

Gender of the future occupant is unknown at this point.

Please stop me from spray-painting it fluorescent purple -- unless, of course, you think that's a great idea. The standard navy/black seems (1) like a good idea, and (2) a bit dull.

If you want everyone to notice that it's a vintage pram, then you will want the traditional black. White accent on the trim, unless it is metalic. This would be best if you ever intend to sell the pram.

If you want to go beyond that, consider adding flames to the side.

Pastel yellow, green, or lavendar are pleasing, spring colours, but will look out of place in another season.

Fluorescents will guarantee that you will never have any difficulty identifying your pram. Of the fluorescents, pruple is probably the most visually pleasing and neutral colour. Avoid safety orange, since you will look at it far more than anyone else.

Burgundy, or viridian (with yellow trim) might be a nice colour.

If you wanted a blue that didn't scream "boy!" cobalt blue or darker would provide a rich color. Pearlescence could make it sparkle like a star saphire.

If you wanted to bother people a little, black with a green "X-Ray" image of the contents of the pram painted on the sides ("X-Ray" of a sleeping infant's skeleton), might be amusing.

You could also adopt the colour scheme of your favourite theme park ride, which would be great if you could convince your little one to exclaim "Weee!!!"

It's your project. Have fun with it! And congratulations!

My mom had 1 for us three kids back in the 70s and that pram was expensive but was excellent and built to last, only thing she put us all 3 kids in at once and it busted!

I would say navy blue the original.

I saw the ones made by silver cross in England and they run in the $1000s. Wish my mom kept the one she busted. I would have planted hydrangeas in them.

i imagine I actually have one in all those in my loft, it became my mums even as she became a baby, and then i used to play with it as a woman too. i do not understand its unique coloration as my mum repainted white for me. i'd have an interest in the cost too.

pastel green or lavender any soothing color. Yellow is a popular neutral color but make it pastel.

Going florescent may make the poor kid excitable dear.
