I tried to do a search for this on Yahoo and WebMD, but i couldn't find information on women.

I know the prolactin levels are controlled by the pituitary gland in the brain. The chemical is also elevated when breast feeding. I am NOT breast feeding.

I can't find any info on this topic and TTC? I know it will cause me to stop ovulating, irregular cycles, but I dont know anything else about it.

I too have this problem. It is when the pituitary gland goes into overdrive and produces too much projecting, which is the hormone that produces breast milk. You don't have to be breastfeeding to have the problem. I've never breastfed in my life, and I've had this condition for three years.
The condition can cause tender breasts, headaches, irregular cycles, lightheartedness, infertility, and nausea. My condition was originally caused by a tumor on the pituitary gland. However, with medication (dostinex) the tumor went away. I still have too much prolactin in my blood, so I continue with the medicine. Just whatever you do, don't skip a dose of the medicine. I know when I do, I get extremely bad migraines. My husband are currently trying to get pregnant, the doctor said it wasn't impossible, so she switched medicines that is supposed to help with the fertility and the hyperprolactonemia (parlodel). Unfortunately, it has yet to work. If there is anything more that I can help you with or anything else you want to know, feel free to email me mrs.amberpleasant@yahoo.com
