I know every child is different and they all grow at different rates... but I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that showed some kind of baseline for how much infants should be eating. I have an almost 4 week old. He eats about 2-3 ounces every 2 - 21/2 hours. I don't want to underfeed him or overfeed him. Sometimes he eats too much and spits it all out. Anyone know of an average?

I'm being honest, I have basic financial income, when I see other mothers with nice strollers, nice outfits for their kids, nice digital canon rebel cameras to take kick *** pictures with, nice dresses and clothes for the children, nice nurseries where everything matches.. I feel rather bummed out.

i want the best for my kids and even though i show my baby all the love in the world, I still feel like I wish I was able to make her even more happy, i want her to look back and see nice pictures of her, not pictures of her in outfits I bought at value village or stuff like that ya know? Am I a bad person for wanting nice things????

My sister has a baby (2 weeks old) who has been congested in her nose only for about a week now. She has taken the baby to the doctor 2 times, and she says that she trusts her doctor but something feels wrong. She was told to use saline drops in the nose and suck the nose as much as needed. At nightime especially, the baby needs her nose sucked out about every hour. She cannot sleep because she cannot breathe through her nose. It has gotten to the point that the nose is bleeding inside from being sucked so much.

As it turns out, my infant had the same problem as a baby and it turned out to be a formula allergy. I told my sister that, but she trusts her doctor and said that the doctor has not suggested the formula be changed.

Is this totally weird or are other people doing the same thing as what she just did. She said that #7 came because
"The Lord Willed It". I just think its weird to have a grandchild that is older than your own child. The girl is a sweety who had this baby. Am I right about that situation being crazyness or are there others.
Btw I have no intent on ever having another I am happy with 3 and my tubes are tied.

Can anyone give me details of the teethign process. My 6 month old has be teething for 3 months now. No teeth yet, but soon the doc said. She seems to have all sorts issues that I need to know are expected with teething.
1. ear grabbing
2. Increase or decrease in appetite
3. irritability
4. sleepless ness (daytime)
5. restlessness during the night, wakes up a couple times, seemes like she is in pain.
6. doubles over and turns herself red as if she were pushing hard. (poops normal)
7. Drools alot of course.
Is it normal for her appetite to decrease and she seems like she cant get comfy during the night.

I have been breastfeeding my newborn for the past 5 weeks and am still finding it very uncomfortable and painful on my nipples because I just can't get my baby to latch on to the breast properly. It has become almost unbearable to nurse him, but no matter how hard I try I am unable to make him take more of the aereola in his mouth when he nurses. He is basically suckling only on the nipple, which is very painful.

How can I get him to open his mouth wider and accept a 'mouthful' of my breast, rather than taking only the nipple? Times that I have managed to get him latched comfortably he squirms away until just the nipple is in his mouth again.

He is getting plenty of milk, and is gaining weight very well, it's just that the pain from feeding him is so great that I can hardly stand it. I have no access to a lactation consultant for help, and I'm at my wits end. I don't want to give up on breastfeeding, but I don't know how much longer I can. Please help!

I have been exclusively breastfeeding my son for the past 3 1/2 months but now I would like to have him drink from a bottle every once in awhile. My husband has started feeding him a bottle once a day but my son just will not drink from it. If he does drink it takes him an hour to drink one oz. I really don't know what to do. Do I have other options if he continues to refuse a bottle like a sippy cup?

Please help. Thanks

My little one started having jarred baby food and spends ALL DAY awake now?? Is it a coincidence? Since the day after she started, she takes two 30-45 minute naps instead of two 2 hour naps. She is extremely happy during all of the awake time, and sleeps through the night. I actually love it. Could it be from starting the baby food or just because she is getting older? Just seemed funny to me that it started the day after the baby food :)

I took my daughter off my breast during the day and only feed her from my breast at night because I wanted to see how much she was really drinking. Now I have notices that since I have been pumping my milk supply has slown down. What's the difference between letting my daughter nurse and pumping the milk?

i have looked for similar questions...no luck,
so, i have an almost 8 month old daughter, who has yet to pop her first tooth. it seems as though she may be getting ready. cranky, not sleeping well etc... but, as i as reading some info. it says that she may get a fever, diarrhea, push food away.
all that it seems shes doing is pooping ALOT. 4 out of 5 diapers. at least. its soft, but not diarrhea. could this be a symptom as well? i have not changed her diet, and i dont want to jump to anything, she seems fine, getting a pink butt, im using butt balm.
anyway, a bit long, for a short qustion. but thanks for any info...

he's 3m now and ive tried several different types of diapers and bigger szes, tightening the diaper, but sometimes his poop just literally explodes out his diaper. i dont know if its that its bc is runny and when he farts, the air makes it bubble up the back, or what, but its really gross and messy! i have to change his onesie without smearing poop on his head! does this happen to anyone else?? anything i can do to prevent it?

Does anyone have any tips on how to get my body back into shape?

My husband is a qualified fitness trainer, and he drew up an excercise plan for me about a week ago, which requires rigorous excercise.

But I've found myself simply too tired to do any excercise at all. I am a big coffee drinker, so I've made sure to substitute any sugars with coffee sweetner. I'm also trying to watch what I eat, but the lunches & dinners I make for my husband always look so delicious, I end up eating with him (and just as much as him) anyway.

Help please? I think 6 months is a long enough time to stay fat... :-)

Ok, I have a baby that is going to turn one on Dec. 7. I have a couple of things that I need advice on. First, he has a bit of a biting problem. He does this towards me most of the time and only occasionaly towards others like his dad and siblings. I don't know if he is trying to kiss me and maybe is teething and goes for a bite, but why only me? He comes towards me with his little mouth wide open and then takes a bite and pulls away. It's getting painful and I don't know what I can do about it being he is only one year old. I think he is way too young for disipline like time out and I'm not sure how to go about it since I never had this problem with the first 2. Then another thing is he is starting to throw tantrums, I thought it was too young but he's doing it. He throws himself on the floor and cries if I walk a step away from him. I've been with him 24/7 since he was born so could this be separation anxiety? I don't know but I need some opinions.

it has been like that for a while now...I knew that because I always felt his hiccups so far down. Anyways today for the first time in weeks I felt his hiccups right by my stomach...does that mean he has moved??? Can babies move their position once they are that low??

My daughter is almost 9 months old and has 4 teeth erupting at once 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom.they are pretty far apart they almost look like her lateral incisors.i found info that says when baby teeth come in farther apart theres a better chance her adult teeth will be straight.

My question is... Did your childs teeth come in far apart?

I have breastfed my baby exclusively for 6 1/2 months, I am ready to wean him to formula, I have tried to give him a bottle or sippy cup of formual here and there for a few months but he wont take it. I was just wondering how to go about weaning a reluctant baby? Please help. P.S. to those of you who will just say keep breastfeeding, he already has 7 teeth and it kind of hurts even when he isn't biting, so I have my reasons for wanting to stop.

I keep looking up whether u are really fertile right after u have a baby... people are saying yes. And then people are saying no way! Whats the correct answer? I have an 8 week old (1st baby) and am breastfeeding. I was put on a low dosage of Birth control since I am nursing. I started it on Sunday. (1st time taking birth control ever so i am new to this) I had sex lastnight with no condom and my hubby didnt "go" in me. But now I am worried about the pre ejaculation ..wondering hey since i just had a baby and am breastfeeding what if the "You ARE very fertile" answers are right? Should I be concerned of just be more careful? Or does BC work right away and I can relax LOL
