My son is 2 months old and is absolutely perfect. He never cries (unless he's hungry or wet) .. he just hangs out and is very pleasant. He doesn't sleep much throughout the day (always afraid he's going to miss out on something! :)
but yet he sleeps really good throughout the night!
He's content doing his own thing but also loves to cuddle! He isn't demanding whatsoever.
Is he always going to be this happy, content, and mellow? or will he get more fussy as he gets older?
My brother in law's son (who is turning 1 this weekend) is very hyper (has been since he was 2 day old!) he gets bored easily and requires constant attention.
Do all babies go through that? or is it just a personality trait?
I haven't been around many babies .. so I'm not sure what to expect when my son gets older.
My son just has such a wonderful personality .. will it last throughout his toddler years?

This is my baby's routine.
9am wake, breastfeed, breakfast
11am sleep
1pm wake, breastfeed and lunch
3pm sleep
5pm wake breastfeed and dinner
7.30pm sleep
8pm wake breastfeed
10pm breastfeed and formula and sleep

He can sleep on this own in the day. Very hard to put him to bed at 7.30pm and 10pm. It takes about 1 hour for him to sleep at 10pm. He would stand up in the cot and smile and laugh at us. He would play with his blanket and roll around. We would keep forcing him to lie down but he would keep climbing up. He is still not very stable standing so he would fall and hit himself on the cot and cry. He also wakes every 3.30 hour in the night. I tried letting him cry but he would only fall asleep after I give him a feed. He would empty my breast before he sleeps. That makes me wonder if he is hungry in the night. There are a occasions where he would sleep 6hrs but that was quite rare. What is the problem? Is there anything I have done wrong?

Can a baby be born as early as 33-34 weeks and still be healthy enough to go home asap? Or has anyone here had a premature baby around this time and it being healthy enough to take home soon after?

The same friend who told me that I change diapers too often

told me that I shouldn't kiss her on the face because I have too many 'microbes' and I will make the baby sick. Her son is 3 1/2 months and she says she has not kissed him on his face (just forehead, fingers, hands).

Isn't she missing out on a special point in her babies life? or am I giving 'microbes' to my girl?

What about your 2,3,4,5 month old?
I have a friend who thought I was nuts to use up to 10 diapers in a day (usually 6-10). She said disposable diapers are each good for 12 hours unless it is a poo and then you should change it!
She goes through one package of diapers a MONTH! while I go through one package a week. My baby is 4 weeks, hers is 3 1/2 months. She has never used more than 3 diapers in a day, she usually only uses 2!
Am I wrong or is she a complete nutter?

I already have a 13 month old. I went to the DR today to get checked out before we try to have another baby. It's a totally new doctor and she looked at my paper work and said that I really had a big baby for my size. I'm 5'6 and weigh between 135-140 average. Is 8 lbs 8 oz really a big baby? I had no issues in my pregnancy and was active the whole while and had no trouble pushing him out! Me and my sister were both 8 lbs 10 oz when we were born.

My sister is due with her first child soon and I'm looking to buy her a diaper bag as a gift. She is very trendy and has coach purses. I'm looking for something fashionable yet practical in the $200 range.

My daughter is 11 weeks old and weighs 9lbs 14oz. The Dr never showed any signs that it was a problem. She was born at 36weeks and weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 19.5 inches and is now 21 inches. The hospital is all of a sudden questioning her weight saying that I am not feeding her enough and it is probably because I am only 14. I am like hello if I didnt care then she wouldnt be here right now. She has been in there since Sunday and today on the phone is when they questioned it. What should I do?

I'm five months along in my pregnancy and am at the stage where my mind is a flurry of questions. I have a male cat who is neutered and was declawed before I got him. He doesn't show an interest in much of anything unless it jingles and he's not even a little bit aggressive so I'm not worried about him trying to hurt my baby but I am worried that in his curiosity he might jump into the baby's crib. I was raised around cats my whole life and the cats my mother had when I was a baby never tried to jump into my crib. How do you prevent the cat from doing that?

I'm expecting my first baby in 4 weeks, and my mother in law has 7 cats and one dog, also her house is always with the windows closed (so that the cats don't escape.... I guess). I am concerned of bringing the baby there, at least for the first few months, there is so much hair from the animals, but I don't want to hurt their feelings. Will it be dangerous for the baby?

I am only 5 months pregnant but we are going to start purchasing stuff for the baby, and I'm trying to make a list of things I will need once the baby gets home so we can be prepared ahead of time.

I know that young babies of course will have no purpose going regarding candy, but it sure would be fun to show off a little bundle of joy all dressed up. Is there an age thats too young to take a baby and people will think youre nuts for even bothering?
