Do you think its a good idea to start buying baby formula before the baby is born? Its one of thoughs things that is going to add up and i thought getting a head start would be extremtly helpful money-wise. My only worry is that she wont like or tolerate the brand or type we buy and everything will be wasted. We switched our now 4yr old sons formula at like 4-5 months so i guess thats why im not sure if i should just wait till shes born or go ahead and buy some and maybe try to return the rest of the unused ones if she doesnt tolerate it? any tips from other moms?

My son is 2 Months, 2 Weeks and 1 day old. He is already wanting to start solids!! When he was born, he weighed 6 pounds 4.6 ounces. He now weighs about 16 pounds! He is drinking about 5 ounces every 3 hours. He sits up great assisted. He gets really excited whenever we eat or he smells food. He is always sticking his fingers and any toys that he has a hold of in his mouth. I have already fed him apple sauce and he LOVES it! He chews and pushes it to the back of his mouth and swallows it like he is supposed to. This all just seems really weird to me! He is so young! I have a 6 year old daughter too and she was the same way when she was a baby. But the difference with her was that she was sleeping through the night at 1 month old. My 2 1/2 month old wakes up EVERY 3 hours to eat! Like clock work!! Is there any advice that anyone can give me? Either about helping him sleep through the night or with his feeding? Please, no rude or bashing answers!

My husband and I have done our research and decided not to circumcise our son. The problem is with his family. His Mother is not even talking to me right now because she thinks it was all my decision and that I am setting my son up for a lifetime of heartache by not getting his foreskin chopped off. Why do family members think that it is any of their business anyway? Anyone else encountering this problem?

Today I was so shocked when my 7 yr. old pushed his 6 month old baby brother over while in his Jumperoo..I was cleaning dishes and I heard the baby scream and when I ran over the jumperoo was on top of him. I asked my 7 yr. old why he did that and he said the baby hurt his finger..I am so upset that he would do such a thing because I have had this talk a dozen times with him that when the baby pulls your hair or anything he doesn't mean to hurt you put I felt it was a little extreme the way he tossed him over like that..

Hello everyone, I'm 31 wks pregnant and was just wondering, in your opinion, what is the best to have for our little boy when he comes into the world a crib or a bassinet? Also, we are moving into our new house next thursday, how do you suggest we decorate the nursery? Do those diaper genie (diaper pales) really work? Should we wait until the baby shower next month and decorate after that? Or should we get started next week when we move in? Also, when did you "baby proof" your house/apartment? I was thinking about getting it done way ahead of time. Sorry about asking so many questions!

My baby's 10 months old tomorrow, she just won't go to sleep unless she can comfort-suckle at the breast until she dozes off. She's been exclusively breastfed since birth and that's how she's getting all her milkfeeds now even though she has a good appetite for solids and eats three good meals a day. I get the feeling its going to be very very hard to wean her off because I know she will put up a good fight. It doesn't help that I cannot stand seeing her upset and will be very tempted to give in. Does anyone have any good advice/suggestions?? Or do you think I shouldn't even worry about the weaning issue? I read an article on the LLL site and it seemed to say that babies will wean in their own time and its nothing to worry about. I mean, I don't mind if she's 1 or 2 years old and still asks for it every now and then...but... what if she never wants to wean completely even when she's 3 or 4 ?? What is the best way to wean her off without too much grief??

Many many people are appalled by the scene where John Krasinski shakes the Mechanical doll until it's head pops off. This promotes shaking babies. This is a serious mistake they have made in this movie. This had been noted by many movie critics. Babies are KILLED by being shaken or injured for life.

Unfortunately to those of you who think this doesn't teach people to shake or hurt a baby, it does. There are people stupid enough out there to believe that is a way to take care of "the problem" (crying baby). These are the baby killers!

I just had my little boy four months ago.
My average weight was 145 before i got pregnant. And it went to a leaping 205.....ouch!

I am now at 180. The weight that is going to just fall off of me already has and i know it is up to me to do the rest.
I have always heard that baby weight is hard to get off.

how does high temps outside and indoors affect babys overall health and temperment.
does a high indoor/outdoor temp make a baby more miserable, uncomfortable, and spit up more.

right now it is 95 outside and 79 in my apt even with all the windows open and two fans going.

what can i do beside the obvious of buying a ac or getting more fans.

will undressing him down to just a diaper help in anyway.

my son is 5 months old and right know is fighting a double ear infection and pink eye. so besides the fact of him having low grade fever i don't want him getting to warm.

I had a baby on July 4th. She had some respiratory problems and is now in the NICU. I have been staying with her at the hospital in order to feed her, but I have recently been having problems expressing milk. My breasts are HUGE and full but when I try to pump little to nothing comes out.

I'm at home right now getting some rest. My blood pressure went through the roof last night, so the Dr has me on bed rest. Maybe the stress of the past week is not letting me "let down." IDK. My husband and I are just worried that I will stop producing milk if this keeps going the way it's going.

Oh, I also have a hospital-grade pump at home and that isn't even working! Please help!

My daughter is six-months-old and i've just found out i'm 7-weeks pregnant, i really would be sad to stop breastfeeding my daughter early because of the new baby my eldest two children breastfed for 19-months and the second for 20-months and i'd feel guilty to breast feed my daughter for less time as it would seem i have given my eldest two children a better start in life than my youngest!

what should i do? i'm not sure about this tandum feeding where i feed my newborn and my daughter too, has anyone done this sucessfully? if so, how much did each take and will my newborn get the right amount of milk if my daughter is also feeding?

would be very greatful for anyone who has done this to give me some advice and tips? or would you suggest i wean my daughter off the breast before my new baby arrives?
