Many many people are appalled by the scene where John Krasinski shakes the Mechanical doll until it's head pops off. This promotes shaking babies. This is a serious mistake they have made in this movie. This had been noted by many movie critics. Babies are KILLED by being shaken or injured for life.

Unfortunately to those of you who think this doesn't teach people to shake or hurt a baby, it does. There are people stupid enough out there to believe that is a way to take care of "the problem" (crying baby). These are the baby killers!

Wow. I think you have taken the scene out of context.
The whole point was that he was testing them, it proved that he wasn't ready to be a father at that point it was a lesson to the character. They didn't place in the movie so people would think it was okay, it was there to express and imprint the point that some people arent ready to be parents...he killed the doll and it could have happened in real life.
I'm sorry if it offended you, I doubt it was their intention, but I don't think that as many people as you are assuming are going to look at that film and say "oh, that looks like a good idea, lets try it".
People aren't as stupid as you assume and those who believe that crap, would have done it anyway. (IMHO)

I haven't seen the movie but anyone who would take a COMEDY MOVIE as some form of instruction should not be allowed in public let alone a movie theatre. Come on now. Let's not get ridiculous here.

Shaken baby syndrome is a very serious issue however, using a comedy movie as a stepping stone to discuss this is making a huge leap.

That's ridiculous. Can you please tell me exactly how this teaches people to shake babies? If anything, it teaches them the ill effects of doing so. After all, the baby's head does fall off. And that is rarely anyone's goal when actually shaking a baby. I'm saying this as if anyone is going to take anything serious from this movie anyway. After all, it is a MOVIE!!!

i think if someone is stupid enough to "learn" to shake a baby from a comedy then they were probably stupid enough to do it with out the idea from a movie....and those people shouldnt have babies but unfortunately lots of them do...our opinions cant stop them.
