No...dont buy ahead of time...some babies can only handle certian formulas....so stocking up on one kind is not beneficial until you know what kind your child will take! Oh and most stores these days wont let you return the formula...try just putting like $25 in an account like weekly b/c that is the average cost of a large can of powder formula! That would probably be better so you dont have to waste time trying to return it!

You're getting smashed with "breast-feeding" responses, aren't you? lol You've obviously already made your decision, so just ignore them. I personally think that stocking up beforehand is a WONDERFUL idea. I understand your concern on the formula because you just never know what the baby's tummy will tolerate. Since you're previous experience with your son, I would just go ahead and wait. Its likely this baby may have the same problem. Just request TONS of samples from various manufacturers. That's what I do.
It is still a good idea to stock up on other things though. I always start buying diapers beforehand. Especially when I see some on clearance. It doesn't really matter what size, because the baby will eventually wear them. lol. I also saved the diapers my other two kids grew out of (I'd find them hiding in diaper bags and such.) Good luck!

I wouldnt. Enfamil, Similac and Nestle will all send sample cans, plus you get some at the hospital. I would start her on those, then purchase. If the formula company changes their label, or one ingredient, the store wont take your old formula back.
My daughter turned out to need soy formula just like her Mommie, plus my doctor actually told me to use WalMart's brand because it was identical to Enfamil, and that Target's was identical to Similac.

So there is already some reason you recognize which you would be no longer able to breastfeed? in case you like each little thing to be 'risk-free and ideal' then truly you would be breastfeeding. in case you DO plan on breastfeeding, you do no longer prefer to have ANY formulation obtainable interior the early weeks. in case you already recognize that breastfeeding would be impossible (i.e., you have had a double mastectomy or recognize which you will would desire to start up maximum cancers chemotherapy as quickly as toddler is born), or you have knowledgeable your self, completely understand the hazards linked with formulation feeding, and have nonetheless made the choice to flow with formulation, then you truly nonetheless do no longer prefer to fill up on formulation in enhance. you don't recognize what style of formulation your toddler would be waiting to tolerate, and would would desire to attempt countless varieties. and there is truly NO reason to purchase even you may now -- the shops will nonetheless be open in March. EDIT: happy to take heed to which you would be breastfeeding. yet one extra tip -- do no longer say "i'm going to provide it a flow..." meaning which you assume to no longer prevail. quite, say "i flow to breastfeed." almost all of girls people CAN breastfeed -- and it easily takes much less time and attempt than formulation feeding. A pump? relies upon on why you desire one. in case you would be returning to artwork, you would be wanting a ideal high quality double electric pump. Medela pumps are very extensive-unfold. in case you would be abode including your toddler you do no longer in all possibility desire a pump in any respect. For the very occassional night out you are able to hand-convey milk for a bottle, or you are able to puchase a quite priced pump. Regardless, you purely isn't pumping/giving bottles till toddler is around 6 weeks previous besides, so there's no would desire to purchase the pump in enhance. For the 1st month or 2 it is significant which you purely breastfeed, to get your milk grant properly regular and get toddler nursing properly.

The one baby milk that you can be 100% sure your baby will love is breastmilk. Why assume you need artificial milk before trying to breastfeed? La Leche League can help you.

Why not just breastfeed? It's MUCH cheaper (even if you buy a pump) and babies tolerate it much better than any formula.
