I am expecting a baby in November and have a 2 and a half year old daughter who will be 3 in december. At the moment she never really uses her buggy except for long walks, however i am not going to get a double buggy, what i am going to do is get one of those things called a "buggy board" that clips on to the back of a pram so that the older child can stand on it and get wheeled along if they get tired!
Good luck with your pregnancy!

it really does depend on how much/how far/how oftern you walk!
My son is three and i also have a six-month-old daughter, i have a double and a normal pram, i used the double a lot at first when my son was 2 1/2 and it was a god-sent because i walked my eldest child to school everyday and her school was pretty far away and up a few hills, now he's three i use it less and less, i drive to school most days now and when i go shopping my son likes to walk but for things like holidays and full-day shopping trips to malls i willo take the double because my three-year-old does tend to want to sleep for a while whilst shopping!
i did also buy a buggy bored, they're ok but my son just used to jump off it when he was younger, it's better suited for over three-year-olds!
i'd say yes, get a double but if you can afford it, get a single pram too!
EDIT: sorry just to add, your eldest will probably get a bit jelous of the new baby and if your out and she's miss-behaving and runs off it's very hard to run after her with a pram and you can't exactly leave the newborn and run after your toddler so it also is a case of how well your daughter walks! and with the jelousy issue, if you suddenly have this new baby and your pushing him/her around your daughter may get very jelous and want to sit in a buggy too!

i wouldnt bother, children are normally in a buggy until there 3. Well my two were. I had to get a double buggy because my little boy was 14 months when my second son was born. But he started nursery at 3 so i just used the buggy board. Just get a buggy board there so much easier.

I would recommend a double stoller. When your daughter sees the baby being pushed around she may not want to walk and you dont want to have to carry her and push a stroller or drag her around because she is screaming to ride in the stoller. Not to mention at 2 1/2 she will get tired of walking after 10-15 min so a double stroller would be good for things like trips to the mall or the zoo. They also make strollers that have a platform at the back that allows older children to stand in front of you while you push the stroller.

hi there. my daughter was born when my son was 20 months and he was out of the pram before then. i didn't want the hassle of a double buggy...a single pram is hard enough in some shops! i didn't drive at the time and walked everywhere. to see if he was ready i started walking more places without taking the pram and he loved it and has never been in a pram since i was about 7 months pregnant

i stopped using my buggy with my daughter when she was 3 what about buying a buggy board to attach to your buggy for your daughter to stand or sit on its a cheaper option than buying a double buggy that shes going to grow out of soon any way

i take advantage of the two now that she is 15 months previous and 20 lbs. I do have subject concerns with my back sometimes and she or he's not worn now. It enables a lot whilst i'm cooking and she or he desires to be close once I get homestead from artwork nonetheless- so then particular. We even have a stroller. The stroller is in basic terms in basic terms now getting used extra on the grounds that she is larger. For the 1st 6 months of her existence, she became in a sling just about invariably. Then a Babyhawk whilst she became sitting up on my own. i admire my babyhawk because it is so snug. She loves it now too via fact she would be close as I prepare dinner and sparkling. It additionally enables as quickly as we walk the canines via fact i could have her on my back and the canines with the leash and anybody is chuffed! as quickly as we use the stroller- procuring for long classes whilst she desires to sleep. I in many circumstances take the Mei Tei with me as quickly as we bypass everywhere and placed it interior the basket and then bypass- if she is fussy, in she is going to the Mei Tei. different vantage element=chuffed infant. As a smaller infant and procuring up till she became a 365 days previous, she became continuously in her Mei Tei via fact it takes up no area and she or he became happier in that than interior the cart. So in many circumstances I see babies screaming interior the child seat of their automobile seat in a cart- and oldsters are dashing to make certain why- they do no longer elect to be strapped in and that they might't see something. I enjoyed my sling and need she ought to nevertheless slot in it. So, now, i can placed on her for short classes yet I omit it.

if you walk a lot i would encourage the toddler to walk but there is attachment that you can add to your pushchair which has a platform that your toddler can stand on therefore you can just add the platform it is a good idea as it is on wheels so they can walk until they get tired then they can stand on the platform.
