How did you know your child was ready for one nap?

Most 10 month olds think the y are ready for 1 nap, but are not. To cure this, let them take a morning nap at about 9 if they wake up before 7 and an afternoon nap around 1:45. For the first nap don't let them sleep more than 1 1/2 hours, and no more than 2 hours for the second nap. Try this, he may be ready for one nap, but you will know in trying it one day. If he is very fussy before his nap, or before bedtime, he isn't ready. If he takes one nap, he has to be able to make it until 12 or 1pm. Good luck.

When my daughter was 7 months, she took 2 naps a day, each one was about an hour and a half. Every baby is different though so you can't base your baby's schedule off of someone else's. when my daughter was 10 months old and only takes 1 hour long nap per day and that's it, so a lot can change in a short amount of time!
My son who is 17 months started taking 1 nap at 12 months.

My son is 11 months and has always taken 2 naps. He takes his first from 9-11 and the second from 1-3. It really depends on the baby though, because one of my son's playmates only takes one nap a day and she is 2 months younger. I have read that most babies naturally eliminate their second nap at about 18 months.

my girl is 2 yrs old and she sleeps from 8:30pm till 7:30 am and takes two naps. the first one at 9:30 or 10:00 for mhmm 2 hrs and then the second one at 2:00 pm for 1 or 2 hrs.. she sleeps a lot... sometimes she takes up to 4 1/2 hrs in nap time.. I'm expecting another baby so i hope she doesn't stop taking her naps because I'm starting to get really tired :)

just remember all kids are different.. i recommend u to put ur baby to sleep early and for him to take a nap 2 hrs after he wakes up so he can sleep better, this way he doesn't get too tired .. if u want u can take him a shower after lunch and put him to sleep again :) good luck

My baby is almost ten months and she typically takes two naps a day. She tries to only take one sometimes, but that just leads to screaming and crying (mostly by me, ha ha). My other kids, age 5 and 2, typically take one nap and they started doing that around a year and a half.
