Does your boy take after his father in regards to penis size? I heard somewhere it correlates to the father's side, while I've also heard it can be from the mother's side. I'd say my husband is probably a little above average but my poor little boy has almost nothing.

Personally, I would say:

Your first child is the one that turns your life upside down the most... Getting used to the disrupted sleep pattern and that this very small soul being TOTALLY dependant on you...

Funny how all the books and websites NEVER seem to tell you straight about the upheaval...

So, what advice would you give???

I have noticed my niece often jumps in the middle of her sleep only to wake up momentarily and then go back to sleep again. Is it because she has had a nightmare, she is scared or simply because of relaxation of her muscles?

A family member of mine is having a baby girl! She'd like to incorporate the name Emily(Mother's name) into the new baby's name. It doesn't matter if emily is used in the first or middle name! We like the names Annie, Katie, and Hannah. Any name suggestions would be great! *Include first and middle name please!*

I don't know what is going on with him, but lately he likes to hit me in the face while I'm holding him. Sometimes he even grabbs my face and scratches. I look at him in the eyes and tell him "OUCH that hurts!" I don't know how to make him be nice to me. And I just don't know if this is normal, and if it is where is the agression coming from all of a sudden?

I am having a little bit of a problem. My son keeps peeing through his diapers. I am changing him regularly, but he can pee once and soak through. I have tried huggies and pampers. Can someone please give me some advice on some good brands for little boys? What can I do to help this stop?

My parents adopted me 13 years ago from newborn and are wanting to adopt again through private adoption.Of course will be in heaven with one child, but I'd still kinda like for them to adopt twins, trpilets, ect. What are the odds of adopting more than one babys or toddlers?Race doesn't matter, and it they are willing to adopt a child that might have special needs. And yes we could adopt more than 1 baby from different mothers, but it's almost impossible to find 1 birthmother much less 2 or more. And does anyone know how to go about finding a birthmother around where we live (West virginia). My parents got lucky when they adopted me.My bio dad knew my adoptive parents. They really weren't looking to adopt 13 years ago when they adopted me but knew I needed a home.Thinks in advance. And please serious answers only please.

My 8-month-old son is really a pain in the butt sometimes. He refuses to entertain himself and is constantly whining and wanting my undivided attention. Is it wrong to let him stay on the floor when he is fussing (otherwise happy, well rested, changed, fed, etc.). I feel like if I let him fuss a little bit on his own maybe he will figure out a way to entertain himself for a short period of time. He does not crawl yet, hates to roll over to his tummy (because of the sleep on the back rule) and generally just wants me to entertain him all of the time. He has every toy imaginable (including boxes, tupperware and the homemade gadgets). Why won't he play by himself for short periods of time. Do I just need to let him figure it out by himself? He is not sick, he is very loved, and has no reason why he shouldn't want to play and explore on his own?

I am just wondering, what factors come into play when you make a choice on how to feed your baby... I want pretty much anyone who is feeding a baby to tell me:

1. is it breast, formula, or combination?
2. before your baby was born, how did you intend to feed?
3. did this decision change once the baby was born? if so, how/why? who influenced your decision?
4. if breastfeeding, did anything impede your progress, if so, what? how long did you breastfeed for?
5. does your baby behave differently from breast/formula feeds, or can you tell a difference?
6. overall, how do you feel about your feeding decisions?
7. are you uncomfortable with breast feeding? if so, why?
8. are you uncomfortable with formula feeding? if so, why?
9. do you compare yourself to other moms when it comes to feeding?

10. if you had it to do over, would you change anything?

thanks for your answers. I am not looking to judge, just wondering what is going on in other mother's heads. :)

i asked a question yest. about what to do for my baby. i believe she is constipated...shes got a lot of bad gas and hasnt had a bowel movement in 2.5 days. shes primarily breastfed, occassionally supplemented with formula. i havent given her formula in the last day as i think this is part of the problem.

ive been given her bottles of water to keep her hydrated but she continues to strain and acts so uncomfortable. i cant get in touch with her pediatrician until monday but many of you suggested giving her diluted prune juice. i bought this apple prune juice by gerber as it was the only thing i could find. do you think it would be okay to dilute an ounce of this with about 2 ounces of water and give it to her? any suggestions? thanks so much!

I have been breastfeeding my 7 1/2 week old exclusively. i have had blisters, cracks, soreness, compression lines the works since about day 4. nothing has helped the pain except ibuprofen. I have mastered the positioning, tried everything toget his mouth open further. nothing has worked, he has a very wide tongue (genetic, from his daddy). and cannot get a good latch. i am continueing to breastfeed as he is eating well and gaining weight. now here is my concern:

my nipples have been damaged since day 4. now for the past two, three weeks, they have been turning white!!! it happens randomly, it's wrose in the cold. and it causes an ache that goes through my breast. I;m pretty sure it's not thrush, as bub has no whitness in mouth. it's like the blood is draining away from hte nipps and it hurts like hell.

What can I do, why is this happening, what is it called, and HAS ANYONE ELSE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS???

I'm getting so overwhelmed at the information on breastfeeding. I don't know what I need/don't need. Should I get a pump? A good one or just decent? What about the Medela Single Deluxe Batter/Electric Breast Pump for $64.99 verses the Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pump for $149.99. Or should I rent from the hospital?
