Absolutely. Wait until it's born. Maybe you can put the money you want to spend into some nice little investment (CD or something) so your nephew/niece will have something that will keep building over the years.

It depends on what youre buying. For instance babies are not always as big or as small as you expect. I bought my daughter size 1 diapers and she wore nb for like a month. Also with the clothes the sizes really vary. She's 10 months and wears a 6-9 months. If youre buying things that don't matter such as burp cloths or bottles then no. Even onsies. You can't go wrong with 0-3 month onsies. My daughter wore those til she was almost 5 months. I would just limit what I bought of each size.

yes!

my baby weighed almost 9 pounds and my mother had gotten some newborn clothes that were already too small when she was born.

she was an eater so she grew very quickly and never even wore a lot of her baby clothes because she outgrew them as soon as they fit!

right now she is 7 1/2 months and is starting to grow out of 12 month stuff.

the babys age/size/weight may not correspond with the season that some of the clothes will fit!

my son was the opposite. he grew right along with the labels on the tag. theres just no way to know!

Yes I'd stop if I were you. The parents might not be wanting all these gifts, they can take up a lot of space and might not be something that they want anyways. Or they might want to be the one to purchase some of the items themselves. If you still want to give a gift, give them a gift certificate to babies r us or target. And when the baby is born bring food over for the parents to eat, casseroles and soups are good.

That's a lot of stuff. I personally think you should stop, but it's entirely up to you. It's your niece or nephew, not our's. Congrats!

Yes! when baby comes you can continue to spoil but for right now I think the baby is set... you could buy stuff for mommy to be, like maternity clothes, manicure/pedicure or something nice like that

Yes you should stop! Unless you are solely supporting the child or the parents are in desperate need of your help I would stop for now.

Yes, babies don't know any better, and this is overkill. If you need to spend your money, donate to a shelter/society where moms with babies can use these things.

It's all up to you, but newborns don't need a whole lot. They're just lumps of flesh basically until about 3 months.
