I am trying to decide which bottles to use for my 6 week old baby. I am currently using the Playtex Drop-In bottles, but would like to try Vent-Air. Just not sure if the Vent-Air bottles are good for his tummy. He has colic, so I'm scared to switch on him. Any suggestions on which one to use?

I was fine up until a couple months ago..things have increasingly gotten more overwhelming at times and the baby's cries stress me out so quickly....she is 5 months old now....the first month was like a dream...I actually don't know how I got through it...I also have a 3 year old and lately I have no patience for him, I don't like him touching me and if the baby's crying I just want him to be quiet and go away....I love my children....and I have seen the doctor a few times and am going for counselling and even low doses of prozac....am I going to make it past this hump or is this what my life is going to be like now????

I started giving my daugther oatmal cereal, she had rice cereal for a month, now I m giving the oatmeal. I find that it has changed her bowel movements though, before she went once a day, now it seems every other day. Is that ok? Should I stop the oatmeal, or is it normal for bowel movements to change once they start different foods?

This question is ONLY FOR THOSE PARENTS WHOSE CHILDREN HAVE HAD POSITIONAL PLAGIOCEPHALY. Please DO NOT REPLY if you have not had to deal with it.

My 7 months old has had a flat spot on his head since he was 3 months old, and I'm worried to death that he will have to wear a "helmet" to correct it. At this point, it's of moderate severity. Now that he can sit on his own, the baby does not spend too much time on his back when he's not napping, and he barely spends any time at all in his car seat or stroller, but I have not seen any improvement. His doctor says it will go away on its own, but I'm wondering how long it takes to see the spot going back to its normal shape. I tried repositioning, but the problem is that no matter what side I put him down on to (and tuck towels and blankets under his back), he always flips on his back and sleeps that way anyway! HOW LONG did it take your child's flat spot to disappear? Did you have to take any measures (besides helmet), and if yes, what?

I have a 3 month old and I'm just wondering at what age I should start putting her down at night without rocking her to sleep? And what tricks should I use to "wean" her from being rocked to sleep? She still seems pretty young to self-soothe, but I want to avoid all the problems I hear about with people who have older kids who won't go to sleep by themselves.

We have noticed that our baby has drainage going down her throat. We can see her swallowing this gunk (because we adults go through this too). She has no cold, but I guess this could be from allergies? Is there anything to do to help this without medication? It disrupts her sleep at times. She has a pedi appt. next week, and don't want to call for this, as it is not an emergency. Is there such thing as baby allergy medication?

I think NOW would be good- our son is 2-- and I think it would be a perfect time! our son ... at age 3, would be a great big brother, and the age gap would be good! ... but my husband says NO NO NO...
not for 6 years..... ummm.... I dont want the oldest to the "babysitter" rather than the playmate.
How do we make a decision?

My three week old is being breastfeed and wants to eat every hour to two hours even at night. I'm exasted and need sleep. I have actualy thought about quiting breatfeeding because I'm so tired. I also have a eight year old who was formula fed I don't remember him eating as often. I am realy trying to stick out this breatfeeding thing (It's got to get better right?) I know it is best for baby and me but he never seems to stay full for long. What is your personal experiance on this matter and what is the average age when they don't want to eat all the time?? ....And I have tried everything. I tried the cry it out method several times but it just doesn't work for her. She literally throws up after crying so hard. As soon as I pick her up (and yes I know you are not supposed to pick them up) she goes right to sleep. She has never been able to self soothe and is completely attached to me. She does take her nap in her crib so I know it isn't an aversion to the crib itself. She never sleeps through the night even when she is in bed with me she constantly tosses and turns. She has a soft blankie that she keeps with her but as soon as I try to leave the room she goes crazy. I am not good at letting her cry and I even have some difficulty understanding why she needs to 'cry it out'. She is my 4th child and the only one we have had this problem with. Hubby is very supportive and tells me to do whatever I think is best. Does anyone have any better way of getting her into her bed at night? Thank you in advance for your help.

When my son was born, he was full term, no problems, 8 lbs 14 oz, the hospital instructed me to give him a bottle after nursing until my milk came in because he was a big boy. Now that I look back I am kind of mad that I was so pressured to give him formula. I think that I wouldnt have been so engorged that first week if i hadn't and also i would have felt much prouder knowing that I did it myself. My son is almost 6 months old and is exclusivly breastfed with no problems, and is very healthy, but i am a little mad at the hospital for pressuring me at a time when i was vulnerable because it was my first child and i didnt know how things should work. Anyone else feel like this?

I'm watching my friend's 6 week old and when I was burping her after her bottle she had like a tremor type thing where her head shook but her body stayed still. It was like she was shaking her head "no" real fast and it lasted for about a minute. She was alert and her lips and skin where of normal color, but do you think I should be concerned and call her mom or the doctor to be safe? She did this about 3 minutes ago and it's not something I would consider normal.
