Doctors will tell you to use washcloth with warm water but I chose to use the Pampers brand for sensitive skin with no alcohol or other harmful products and my daughter did just fine with it. She has trouble with lotions and such but has never had a problem with those wipes. A quick word of advice for you that I wish I had had with my first 3 children. Buy a tub of Aquaphor. It is the miracle salve for irritated skin. I have a friend that worked in the burn ward of a hospital and he is the one who told me about it and when my latest little one started getting a diaper rash the Aquaphor healed it immediately. It is the best stuff ever. I now use it everytime she has a bowel movement and she is 12 months old and has NEVER had a diaper rash. Good Luck!

My DD was born 5 weeks early and I used baby wipes from the get go - at the start I used Huggies sensitive wipes. They have no alcohol or harsh stuff. Now at a year I just use regular old wipes. I think you'll know pretty fast if she has a reaction to a particular wipe but I've never heard of one yet amoung all my friends and one of them has kids with pretty sensitive skin.

Most wipes are made for newborn n babies, but some babies do have an allergic reaction so certain wipes..I would recommend using brand names until he/she is older luvs are very good though they arent quit a name brand.Pampers wipes have the newborn sensitive wipes as well . And improvising with a cloth doesnt hurt.

Its ok to use wipes on newborns. In fact, I always thought it was better to use than a washcloth. It was alot softer on the delicate skin, and it cleaned alot better. Less chance of diaper rash that way. If you try it and find out that your baby is sensitive, then you can always switch from there, or try the hypoallergenic ones.

i didn't think that using the cheap wipes would make a difference, but it REALLY does! my baby had a diaper rash as soon as we got her home and it would not go away. we tried all the creams, etc.
THEN, we switched to the Pampers Sensitive Wipes and it went away.
My parents came to visit and bought cheap wipes. Guess what, the rash came back. This was months later. Get the good wipes and good diapers. Your baby deserves them. Also, the cheap diapers leaked!

Definitly, I used Pampers Sensitive ones for the first 3 months, and now I use the walmart brand, they are cheap and great. Its up to you though, depends on what you want to use. I know what its like having the mommy worries, I am 28, just had my first baby, and I experienced that at first but then you get over it fast. Congrats

Water is very drying on the skin. So make sure to use lotien afterwards to prevent irritation and dry skin.
Baby wipe are formulated for babies. But after the umbilical cord falls off, you can bath them. I wouldn't trade bathing them for wipes. But for small messes, go ahead and don't stress.
I am 37 weeks pregnant and just had to say it because it has taken so long to get here and saying it just feels good.

They use wipes in the hospital. So your good. Wal Mart carries the Parents Choice brand and they have Newborn gentle ones. That what I use on my 3 month old and my 2 year old. Good luck and congrats.
