I would not advise you to use the Vent-air for two reasons. 1. Eventhough it states that the nipple is slow flow, too much formula comes out and would cause your child to choke. 2. My son had colic and this did not help his fragile tummy. I have a 6 month old baby and I absolutley love playtex drop-ins. Also if you go to Walgreens or CVS pharmacy they have a drop in liner just like playtex and it will save you alot of money. Good Luck with the new addition.

Out of all the bottles I've tried, the Playtex Vent-Air bottles are my absolute favorite. The drop-ins are convenient and I still use them sometimes but I prefer the Vent-Air bottles. I highly highly highly recommend them, especially if you're concerned about your son's tummy. The Vent-Air bottles never seem to have any air bubbles in them and my daughter, 12 weeks, doesn't spit-up when she burps after drinking from them like she does other bottles. They've never leaked, like some others we've tried, and the nipples are perfect for her (meaning she doesn't end up with milk pouring down her chin when she drinks).

I personally tried then both with my son, while the dropins are great for use at home, unless you prepare them before leaving the house they are difficult to use while out and about. The vent air bottles are great for helping to prevent the baby from getting too much air in the tummy and shouldnt cause a problem with your sons colic. So i prefered the vent aire bottles myself.

My son HATED the Playtex VentAire bottles. I got some at my baby shower and wanted to use them so bad because I loved the way they kept gas to a minimum, but he would not use them. He'd push the nipple from his mouth and cry every time. I ended up having to use the Soothie bottles with the hospital nipple because these are the only ones he'd take. My son had a certain type of nipple he liked from the get go and would only accept the Soothie Pacifier and the Soothie Bottles from day one. It was awful because it was so hard to find those type in my area and when we did there were only a few left on the shelves. I had to stock up whenever I could find them and they were very pricey at the time. Thankfully he's three now and is off both bottles and pacifiers.

I used both, and of the two I prefer Vent-Air. They are designed/angled to allow air to escape from the bottle in the other direction, rather than into the baby's mouth/tummy. So these should work well for you.
I do have to say though there's about six pieces to each bottle including the cap so they're a bit of a pain to wash. I got used to it though.
Good luck!

I have used both I like the vent-air the best but i think the drop ins would be better if your baby is colic. The vent-air still lets some air in .

Never used the drop in, but HATED the Vent-Air, to get air into the bottle the baby has to have a very strong suck. Try the Dr. Browns.

I had problems with my first child with colic and changed to Ventaire bottles and loved them.. She quit crying when I started using them. When I had my second child that is all I used and she never had colic at all.
I really like them because you can take them apart which makes them easier to clean. They helped my children and if I have another one I will use the Ventaire bottles again.
GOOD LUCK

Neither, for colic the best bottles are the Dr. Brown's bottles by far:

You might also want to talk to your Dr. about this formula:

i hated the vent-air the bottoms always leaked water when i was feeding my daughter.
you have to take each piece apart to wash and then dry each piece to get all of the water out otherwise it starts running down your arm or on baby.
i'm trying the dropins when my new one comes in april.
