A child should not sleep with parents unless he/she is at least 6 years old or weighs 50-60 lbs. The risk of SIDS from that is very serious. SIDS happens when a child is accidentally suffocated from blankets, covers, or a human. There is also the "roll over" syndrome. Please look into both of those things. It doesn't matter if you weigh 90 lbs or 300 lbs, the risk is still the same.
Now, the child will not sleep in the crib because it is used to being very warm from your body heat and probably you sleep with the child snugged up against you and you on your side. Therefore the heartbeat is what ticks the baby to sleep as well. I suggest three things:
1. again, read about SIDS and the risk
2. purchase SLEEP SACKS - they are very useful and reduce the risk of sids as well. and keep baby super warm. Because you do not want to place any loose bedding in with baby while he/she sleeps - or even naps. The swaddle blankets are good as well and you can see how to swaddle at my reference or at http://www.angelbabybedding.com/Beddingglossary.html i think it is.
3. purchase a nice crib light with soothing sounds - CD player or not.
I hope that helped :)

Too Bad So Sad! I actually had the same problem. It was SO much easier to have the baby right there while breast feeding, and then as to reassure me that she was OK.
Unfortunately, you only have a couple of choices.
Put up with the noise for a few weeks, or leave the baby in your bed.
Mozart as background music helped for my daughter, or put a ticking clock near the baby crib, to reassure the baby that it is not alone.

A nurse told my daughter to put a heating pad in the crib towarm up the sheets and take it out when she put her down. Also we had a bear that sounds like a heart beat. The first time she really slept all night was when we put a little cereal in her bottle. Her tummy was full and she slept from 10 at night til 730 next morning. She is a healthy, beautiful 4 yr. old now. Good luck.

I would try to put her in the crib during the day and give her a pacifier but at night I would let her sleep in the bed with me. Sorry but I have two kids and they both slept with me at night until they turned a year old.

Just put the baby in the crib let the baby cry everyday it will get better. this is something you have to do It is very dangerous sleeping with a baby.. Do not feel bad about the baby crying. You will feel even worse if something happens to the baby.

I don't think she really knows the difference right now. I do not see anything wrong with having her sleep with you , as long as you are very careful. I co slept with both my girls during the beginning stages. It helped us bond. I was also nursing i ended up falling asleep while she nursed next to me. She is still very young, I do not believe that crap that they never get out of your bed when they get older. I did it with no problems twice, so has my sis and many Friends. I stopped with my baby ( now 10 months) when she was around 4 months old. As you know all babies are different, see what works best for your baby. What are you most comfortable with?

You can not give in! If you keep this up, your baby is going to be sleeping with you all through her younger years. When she starts to cry, just feed the bottle to her over the side of the crib. Even though her crying may break your heart, you will glad that you toughed it out in the end.

Get her out of your bed as soon as you can, its not good for baby and well its not good for you cause the longer she is in there, the harder it is to get her out. When she gets up go to her, get her back to sleep and put her in the crib, takes patience but in the long run its worth it. Just don't give up and bring her in your bed. Be strong.

Its going to be a bit of a fight at first. Try putting a sweater or a bth rob in her bed that you have worn, so that your smells are there with her. It may take some trying and crying...but stay strong. She will figure it out that is where she is to sleep.

Put her in her crib and pat her back until she goes off to sleep.
If she wakes up repeat. It will take time for her to learn she is suppose to sleep there. Good luck.
