I'm watching my friend's 6 week old and when I was burping her after her bottle she had like a tremor type thing where her head shook but her body stayed still. It was like she was shaking her head "no" real fast and it lasted for about a minute. She was alert and her lips and skin where of normal color, but do you think I should be concerned and call her mom or the doctor to be safe? She did this about 3 minutes ago and it's not something I would consider normal.

I called her mom to let her know, but got her voice mail. I didn't say anything to worry her, but I let her know what was going on. Hopefully she will give me a call back.

I have two children, one 19 month old and one 8 month old. Both of my children, as babies, had these kind of tremors, almost as if "a goose walked over their grave". Personally I wouldn't be worried if it was just as you described. On the other hand if it could be conceived in any way as a kind of fit then I would definitly call her mother.

Newborns on the whole devour each and every two-three hours. If the little one is breastfed and you can be giving pumped milk in a bottle, count on to feed her at least one time whilst you are there, might be two times. They additionally poop 10-12 instances in step with day, so you can difference one million or two diapers. Make definite you difference the ones diapers on the grounds that you do not desire the little one to get diaper rash. Other than that, she'll commonly sleep, as they nonetheless are drowsing sixteen-20 hours in step with day at this age. In reality, if you are fortunate, she'll simply sleep the complete time. My infants have all slept that lengthy at that age, and ordinarily for the duration of the ones hours of the day too. Bring anything to learn or watch on TV. Care will include feeding, burping, exchanging, rocking and that is approximately it.

How long did it last? just a couple seconds?

ive seen newborns do this a lot... if it was just a couple seconds and she acted perfectly nromal then it was probably just her trying to work her neck muscles.

Either way, you might feel better calling her mom.

As a mother, I would definitely want you to at least call me. I'd leave it up to the baby's mom what to do next.

if she looks okay then i'd say she's probably fine. but if she does it again then call her mother and ask if shes done it before now. my son looked like ray charles before he got control over his head and neck.
