My little one likes to cat nap during the day, about 5 naps of 30 minutes or so. I would like for him to adjust to a different nap routine so he can sleep better at night. Any suggestions? Thanks, Millie

Hello, My baby is almost 5 months old and he cat naps about 3-4 times during the day, ranging anywhere from 20 minutes to and an hour. At night, he wakes up frequently (every 1-3 hours). When I feed him, he only eats about 5-10 minutes and then he's finished. He is still in a bassinet in my room, but I think I should put him in his crib soon, since he is crawling a little bit now. Is there anyway I can get him to relax better and sleep longer? Any suggestions?! Thanks, Millie

Can't function anymore! My health is down the tubes! My 7 month old was colic from 6 days old. He just will not go to bed before 11 PM. I can deal with this but he will not sleep more then 2-3 hours straight! I have had only '3' 6 straight hours of sleep in almost 8 months. Regardless, my 3 yr old is up early raring to go all day! I breastfeed and have done so on demand as not to wake my husband with work and my 3 yr old. I have began to not pick my 7 mnth old up from crib. I pat him intermittantly but since 2 this morning he SCREAMED till 5PM.
He is spoiled, stubborn, can go on with only a tab of sleep! It is hard as I want to comfort him and be with him while he is so young but I cannot keep it up! He has always refused bottles but is now on solids and fed well.
To add, our old faithful dog is high maintanence and when baby sleeps the dog is in need of attention. Hubby has work & does try to help but it is getting insane! I never felt so tired & out of it! ADVICE? COMFORT? Please

When my baby is dry, fed, burped, warm, and well, and he's still crying how long is ok to let him cry. I don't want him to think if I cry I get held. He stops crying when I pick him up. So how long is to long, he is 7 weeks old.

Firstly PLEASE don't misunderstand q as trying to provoke an argument, as I'm just curious to understand why without putting pressure.

I exclusively breastfed for 1st 3 mths then have mixed fed since (due to baby's v slow weight gain) so have experience in both.

But... it seems that many people now are bottlefeeding from start and I would really like to know what stopped you wanting to breastfeed. In my opinion (again not lecturing - got my own share of that when started mixing), breast has more pros (health of baby, deeper bonding, on tap, delayed period, free compared to expensive formula) and few cons (probs in public, delayed dieting).

As so many of you are doing it, there must be something I'm not getting. Also, would you have considered mixed as I have done? (may be lucky but baby has had no probs switching)

I can take the infant car seat and have her in her own seat or should I just hold her. I leave CA at 6:30 am and arrive 6:30 pm, with two lay overs. I have never flown witha child. Any information would be helpfu.

I have been left with a gaping hole in my roof, the wind ripped my tiles away. I telephoned the insurance company immediately and was assured someone would be in touch the morning after before 11am. To cut a long story short, 4 phone calls over the week-end threatening them with legal action if they dont do something they are asking me to pay up-front for the damage and they will re-imburse me, their reason being they have a high-demand because of all the damage from the storm. I have refused this, its now 4 days and still nothing done (only a claim number) what can I do. also it takes an hour to get through to them every time I ring.

I was told by a shop assistant at a baby store today that jogging with your baby is frowned upon due to the possibility of Shaken Baby Syndrome occuring. This is why it's hard to find three-wheelers designed for runners in Australia according to her. I'd like to find out more about this but haven't come across too much information as yet. Is there a high risk of causing SBS if you take your one year old jogging on bitumen or hiking on unsealed tracks?

I am due in March and am registering for my shower tomorrow and have researched it seems like millions of diaper bags. Which do you think is best? I would like to spend $40 or less, I am planning to breast feed, so I shouldnt need tons of room like that Land's Inn bag, but I do like compartments so that everything doesnt just fall to the bottom...

Opinions???
