He's a man - until he grows up a little you'll probably find this will continue to be the case. My partner was extremely 'allergic' to babies until he held his own for the first time. Now he coos and ahs all the time about how cute (or not) other people's are after having his own and realising they don't bite or anything!

We can go 2 ways with this. 1) He may not be comfortable around young children. Has he had experience with baby's? Has he been around them much? If this is the case then sit him down and talk to him. Next time your friend comes around sit him next to you. Get him involved without pushing. Maybe ask him to hold his finger out and see if the baby will grab it. Its about making him feel comfortable. 2) He may of just wanted to give you and your friend a bit of space to have a chat. I'm a mother and whenever i catch up with my friends all i ever talk about is baby's. I have to admit.. Lads would much rather talk about the football then about bottles, nappies and sleepless nights. Don't worry about it. Laura

Have you tried asking him? Perhaps there is a deeper reason? Has he been with a girl before who got pregnant and had an abortion? Does he have a secret baby somewhere? Is he just baby phobic? I think you need to ask him, its a bit worrying!

He musnt like the idea of having a baby himself i suppose. Thats taking it a bit far though to walk out on your friends baby

Did you ask him? Perhaps he has a fear of having kids or being around children it would give you relief by just asking him. Also make sure there is nothing bothering him from the past to do with children- just a suggestion.

some guys just see babies as signs of having to grow up and be responsible for something other that themselves and it freaks them out and he'll probobly be thinking that you'll want a baby now that you've spent time with one
men are complicated creatures who are often hard to understand but we put up with it coz we love them

Perhaps he doesn't like babies. You should ask him cause otherwise you might come up with the wrong conclusion.

Perhaps he just hates kids. Or he's scared you might want one so he's acting funny thinking it will put you off.
