hi, when I was nursing, I noticed that some babies don't seem to like the feeling of pooping.Perhaps they have a little more gas or are more sensitive to the normal movement of the digestie tract thatn other newborns. You can try some colic drops before a feed, there are special ones for newborns that don't have a certain engredient in it. You can also try bending his legs so his knees go towards his tummy and seeif this eases it. If he is stressed still after you have changed him, try a warm bath. He should settle downwhen he gets used to the sensation, but it might take a couple of more weeks. If it gets worse over time, then it is probably colic.

Sometimes breast fed babies get constipation too. I would suggest some kyro syrup or a little prune juice mixed with water in a bottle. Get the platex bottles so the baby won't get "nipple confusion". I think prob 1/2 tsp of prune juice to a four ounce bottle of water should help. I know, some of you think I'm crazy, but it worked when my babies were newborns. If this doesn't help, seek advice from your pediatrician. Hope it helps though.

It sounds like with such a young child and that he is breastfed that the best advice that anyone can give you should be your babies doctor. I know when my boys were that young the Dr. said that they were not used to pooping yet and that they may think of it as discomfort and cry.

Check with your doc. first. My baby did this also and I was told that some babies get freaked out by going potty, it scares them and they dont know what it is. He does not sound constipated though so it just sounds like hes scaced. Call your doctores office or the hospital or a clinic to talk with a nurse for free.

You need to talk to the pediatrician about this. There isn't anything you should do without checking with the doctor.
