In my case there was NO cure for my son's colic. He had it until he was about 6 1/2 months old. He cried non-stop whenever he was awake and almost drove me NUTS.
The things that I read that people said helped their kids (not mine)
were to;
Give them gripe water (available at most drug store, over the counter, and homeopathic shops)
There's a special way to hold them. Kind of like a sling, on their stomach along your arm. (sounds confusing but there are diagrams in some colic books)
Give them anti-gas medicine
Make sure their environment is dark and quiet. No loud music, television, or bright fluorescent lights
Constant motion of a swing or rocking is supposed to also help
Have their formula (if formula fed) monitored to see if the have a lactose problem
If you breastfeed monitor the things you eat.(If you eat spicy food it can be transferred through breast milk and mess with the baby's tummy)
Those were all the ideas that I remember, but like I said, none of them worked for me.
Just REMEMBER!!! If you get stressed out by the constant crying put the baby in his/her crib and walk away for a couple of minutes (5 mins, MAX) Sometimes YOU need a break too.

Colic is a common condition in childhood that is marked by intense prolonged crying, usually during the evening hours. The crying arises all of a sudden and cannot be pacified by any means. The child will stop crying only after it is exhausted. Usually 2 weeks after birth this crying may start and continue everyday for several months, same time each evening.
The baby should be fed in a semi upright position, and continue holding the baby for about 15 minutes after feeding. Remember it is important that the baby burp’s.
Use gentle strokes to massage the stomach of the baby.

Here are some things that helped my baby...she was very "colicky" for the first month and a half, now she is a happy 4 month old and we are MUCH happier parents LOL. A lot of times colic is caused by an underlying problem that isn't obvious unless you really look into it. That's how we discovered my little girl's allergy to milk and soy. Once we changed her over to the hypoallergenic formula, changed her bottle and started swaddling her CORRECTLY with the miracle blanket, she become a completely different baby within days. Good luck to you and I hope this helps :)

I don't think there is a definite cure... sometimes the baby just has really bad gas. If your child is overly fussy. Set him or her up on your knee or over your shoulder and give him a good burp. You can also try gas drops. Also, babies that do have colic tend to like being moved alot, either in a swing or being cradle and gently rocked. As a last resort you could try taking a drive until he or she falls asleep. Best to you.

It's very simple - - NUTRAMIGEN. It's a formula made by Enfamil, it claims to calm colic symptoms within 48 hours, and it does!! I would definately recommend it. It's a little pricy but surely worth the money. Good luck, I know how frustrating and tiring colic can be on a mommy.

my heart is with you. my daughter had colic. she cried for 15 hours straight, and pretty much stayed awake crying on and off for 3 days once. our dr. reccomended gripe water. you can find it at some pharmacies, and health food stores. i highly reccomend it. it does not work for all babies, but about 80% respond in some manner. it's all natural and contains ginger, fennental, and chammomile. it calms their stomach, gets the bowel moving to move the gas, and relaxes them. i swear by it, it was definatly a sanity saver. just remember to keep calm, if the crying is getting to you it's ok to put the baby down someplace safe and go stand outside, walk around the house, (take the monitor with you, just muted if you have one with lights on it) take a bath, whatever you need to do for a quick 10 min break. this can be very hard on a new parent's nerves. you are not a bad parent if you have to do this. my best to you.
