at what age does a baby go from a crib to a bed? my daughter is almost 15 months, and she still throws a huge screaming fit everytime i lay her down for a nap and at bedtime. at the rate this is going, i don't think she'll ever go to sleep in a bed if she can get up and walk around. any advice would be truely appreciated.

I work with this girl who just turned 21 and had a baby boy. Well her husband was a schizo and they started a divorced right after the baby came. Well the first time i saw the baby he seemed a little small to me and I asked if he was a preemie and she said no, so i thought maybe he was just small. Well a few weeks later child services started investigating her. Now she told me that the reason was because of her soon to be ex, which didn't seem right to me because if they were divorcing, her custody shouldn't have anything to do with her husband, right? Well anyways she wouldn't really talk about it after that and no one saw the baby for a while, i thought they took him. Well the ordeal is over now and I duno if they gave him back or never took him but I saw him yesterday, now 3 months old, and he's STILL smaller than most new borns!! I dunno if she doesn't feed him or if she did drugs but he is DEF failing to thrive. Why would they let her keep him? I feel so bad for this baby!

I dropped my baby on her head, I felt so awful. She screamed alot at first but quieted down pretty quick (thank god, that yelling was driving me nuts!), I put her to bed and she fell asleep right away. Should I be worried that the cut is still oozing blood a bit? Also her breathing is hard to recognize.

Having a baby in a few weeks and dont have a thermometer, should I get one. Are the regular ones okay to get or do I need a special baby one. What is the average baby temp 98.6 like grown ups or different? Also should you check their temp or do you not really need to? Thanks

Why do babies like to suck on their tongues. My son uses a pacifier, and I have started to notice that he sucks his tongue. It scares me to death, because i have this fear that he will swollow it.

My son was born with different sickness ; Hypoglycemia , PDA ,Hirchprung Disease and also a short muscle between his fingers. Some of these are already healed from his 2 months stayed in the ICU after he was born. Some are partly healed from a number of surgery-some are not yet. My husband and I have been fighting with several doctors and nurses in different countries who treat our son as an experiment. We have spent more than we ever imagine on hospital bills. But our son has been such a fighter. We know he is an old soul..and he gives me strenght all this time. Now he's one and three months old. I have read a few of comments from different people here whose child was very sick as well. I really want to set up a club online to get to know you more-and hopefully this will be a place to gather more knowledge, encouragement, and strenght for all parents who are now fighting with their babies. Please email me or answer my request here if you are one of us or know anyone. Thank you!

So last night me and my boyfriend had sex without a condom, last night was also the last day of my period, so before we did it there was nothing there and after we got done there was blood like five minutes later. COULD THAT HAVE BEEN AN EASIER WAY TO GET PREGNANT AND COULD I BE PREGNANT IF WE KEEP SEX THE REST OF THIS WEEK.

i was breast feeding my baby full time till he completed his 3 months. then after wards we started some rice soup. so he reduced his intake of breast milk. and my breast milk secretion also reduced. now again he wants more of brest milk...as he drinks ,will my breast milk secrete more or will it secrete the same amount (less amount which secreted when he was fed with a soup).he is now going to complete his fourth month. and his needs have become more.

My baby is now 4 months and still only takes 2-3 oz per feed and wants feeding every couple of hours. She is healthy and gaining weight well. We have tried giving her cooled water in between feeds to make her more hungry but she still only takes 2-3oz. I plan to indriduce solids soon but am wondering if she is ready if she is not even able to drink more than 3 oz of milk at a time Any advice?

My 4 month baby is still waking up 5 times plus every night. We have been rocking/cuddling her to sleep since she was born and now this is proving to be a problem as she can't get to sleep by herself. We tried sleep training her with the shh pat technique but she just would not stop crying frantically and ended up picking her up again. I am worried that if i continue she will start to associate bedtime with crying. Any advice?

is there a soft padding for cribs that is still safe in terms of preventing SIDS? My son (6 weeks) will sleep just fine on softer surfaces (like the boppy pillow or my bed, with supervision of course), but as soon as he is in his crib he screams. I'm assuming it's too hard for his comfort, so I was wondering if ther is any sort of safe padding I can get. Like maybe memory foam that's softer yet still firm.
