My son was born with different sickness ; Hypoglycemia , PDA ,Hirchprung Disease and also a short muscle between his fingers. Some of these are already healed from his 2 months stayed in the ICU after he was born. Some are partly healed from a number of surgery-some are not yet. My husband and I have been fighting with several doctors and nurses in different countries who treat our son as an experiment. We have spent more than we ever imagine on hospital bills. But our son has been such a fighter. We know he is an old soul..and he gives me strenght all this time. Now he's one and three months old. I have read a few of comments from different people here whose child was very sick as well. I really want to set up a club online to get to know you more-and hopefully this will be a place to gather more knowledge, encouragement, and strenght for all parents who are now fighting with their babies. Please email me or answer my request here if you are one of us or know anyone. Thank you!

My husband and i can relate. Our son had to be in the nicu for a while. He was pucking up bile. At first the thought that the intestine was malformed our blocked, They were even going to prep him for surgery so that they could get a good look even though x-rays did not spot anything wrong, and this was when he was less then 24 hours old. Thank god my husband and I did not consent. We wanted diffrent options than surgery. They decided to give him high yeild and full spectrum antibioctics and afte 5 days it started to clear up. They now thik that it was an infection. I am happy to say that whatever it was never came back and he is happy and healthy, but when they told me they were going to surgery when they did not even know if they would find something I flipped. I wanted to kill

Good Luck

There is always hope

I'm sorry that you guys are having such a terribles time. My son is now 20. he was born with Spina bifida. I know it's scary and overwhelming. It's very difficult to deal with the doctors. Use your gut instincts about things. If something doesn't feel right get a second or third opinion. The best thing is to remember as your child gets older to not dwell on his physical weakness. Try to treat him normal as possible. Find things that are his strenghths and try to encourage him as much as you can. It will be very important for his self-esteem. My son participated in wheelchair basketball for many years. It was wonderful that he could have something that he could do. You won't have to worry about that for a while. For now Just love him and take care of him the best way can. God Bless!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I have a two year old who was fortunately very healthy. You must be a very strong person to have to see your child this way everyday. I pray for his recovery and I wish you and your husband all the luck! God Bless you all.
