baby question.....?

at what age does a baby go from a crib to a bed? my daughter is almost 15 months, and she still throws a huge screaming fit everytime i lay her down for a nap and at bedtime. at the rate this is going, i don't think she'll ever go to sleep in a bed if she can get up and walk around. any advice would be truely appreciated.

i tell her it's nap time before i lay her down. then once i lay her down and give her her milk, she starts with the screaming. i hardly ever go back in since this is her routine, but sometimes i have to go sit in my closet because i can't handle hearing her high pitched screams.

Try to keep her in a crib as long as you possibly can. For us, it became a safety issue since he would climb out and we were worried about him falling. I think most people end up changing them to a toddler bed between now & two. I don't think there is really a right or wrong answer just whatever works best for your family.

Keep in mind when you do put her in a toddler bed you can put one side against the wall and use the little rail thing (the ones you buy to keep them from falling off the bed) and it "might" deter her from getting up & roaming. When you do put her in a toddler bed, set the rules from the beginning about not getting up after you've put her to bed and if she's going to sleep in a big girl bed then she's got to follow the rules or go back to the baby bed. (A little physchology never hurts! lol)

I moved my daughter into a bed when she was about 18 months because I was afraid she would climb out of it and fall from a higher point than what a bed is. If she starts trying to climb out that is when you should change to a bed.

The nap time was always a struggle for me too. We eventually did away with one of them, so she had only one in the afternoon. When we switched her to a bed, we had to put the gate on the door so she couldn't get out.

Good luck. Maybe try not giving her a nap until she is more tired.

Do not give in to her crying !! This is a phase and she will get over it. When she starts to get out of her crib by herself then it is time for a regular bed. Usually around two or two and a half.

You have to make that decision based on your child. Usually around 3 kids move to a "big bed", but by all means, don't do it if she's in danger. You still have a while before making that decision though. When she first goes to her toddler bed, you could put it in your room if you're still a little worried.... good luck!

generally between 3 and 4 years they switch to a bed. Before that your just asking for them to be up roaming the house at all hours lol

Babies are basically attention seekers (like most of us). She has realized that every time she throws a screaming fit you are going to come. The best thing to do is ignore her. Tell her it is sleeping time and she can do whatever she likes but you are not picking her up. make sure that she will be safe and then leave the room. She'll come to realize in a few days that its best to go to sleep. Please make sure that you don't relent otherwise it would be even more difficult to manage her. Happy Parenting!

Put her in her bed and pull the door not fully closed but enough for her to get out if she wanted. and everytime she comes out take her back. Say nothing and put her back into bed. She will eventually get tired and give up. You just have to bear with the crying. Remember just breathe and put her back and say nothing. Let me know if this works please

We didn't switch ours till they were two. And at that point you can gate the door of the room to keep them in their.
